6 wounds, toughness 6, 3+ save, can give itself FNP, spawns new termagant broods... and for every termagant unit you take, you can have one as troops. Oh yes, I will be using 2 of these. At a minimum. In every army list.

Trouble is, I have no idea what the hell they look like! As far as I know this is a completely new creature so there's no wonky second edition or epic scale model to draw inspiration from. The idea I have in my head is like the queen from Aliens crossed with a Carnifex. I've found a VERY nicely done conversion (NOT my work, don't know whose) along this line on a google search, here are a couple pics:





I like this conversion a lot. Trouble is, mere mortals such as myself have neither the modeling skill nor the patience to pull this kind of thing off. I'm looking at some alternatives along the same general theme, basically take a plastic carnifex and swap the limbs around enough to make it stand out as something different.

Scything talons for legs maybe?

Some kind of egg-sac made from spare bio-weapon barrels? I'm scared that no matter how I build this thing, it'll end up looking like a carnifex with a huge boner.

Scrap that idea entirely and have gaunts bursting from cracks in the carapace, like a surinam toad?

Any of youse guys who have put together one care to show off your work to help the rest of us get moving on ours?

Great, fantastic work there. Any idea what size base that is? 60 mm monster?

You could kitbash a biovore and a carnifex together - turn the biovore torso upside down, model it onto the abdomen of the fex and use the weapon for the ovipositor, model a termegant spewing out of it like the other guy did, and mash on some bioweapon bits for sacs?

I think we should all wait until at least the Battle Missions come out, because I know there will be some 'Nids in that one, last I heard.

Also, a picture will be in the 'Dex, so why not wait a few weeks to see it for real?

wow...all that green stuff....the hours upon hours of work he/she probably spent on the model......GW will probably not even come out with a model, although if they do..they should take a look at this guy first!

It's from over on Warseer, Last I saw it it didn't have a head or the back sac but it's really coming along. That base looks like the Large oval one used for the trygon/mawloc and valkeryie. I'm gonna have to cut a few out for my Tervigons even if I won't put that much work into it

I'm currently thinking Trygon as the base for one myself, and was looking at the pictures of the Bitz in this months White Dwarf, and got to looking at the Mawloc head. Wonder what it would look like to have the thing barfing the Gaunts out, rather than some kind of birthing tube. Would help eliminate all the jokes about having a giant shlong on your monsters.

Tervigons will be very popular I think come Jan16, I can't wait to see all the crazy conversions people are going to do for them while they wait for a model for it.

I'm fully intending to use the Mawloc head Aduro. I figure it pukes up a bunch of termagaunts that then uncurl and take off. Birthing tubes are to slow, projectile vomit is where it's at!!!!

I'm not sure what I'm more interested in see, the odd things people make for Tervigons, or the HUGE things people make for Tyranofexes.

IMO the egg "sacs" should be underneath and protected, not on the back. Speaking of, anyone notice how the rear arm is in an "oh my aching back" pose?

Actually, I'm pretty sure that's the Swarm Tyrant made by Hydra over on Warpshadow. He's one of the big guys in the Tyranid world...here's a link to his gallery:

If you look at the gallery, there is a stripper on the other side of the building, hiding from a Gaunt that's looking inside.

How will you fit the large head on the carnifex body? i know i have tried to put the two together and it didn't work too well.

i was thinking of the same thing as aromasin except more bent over with one egg sack burst open and a termagant (check the new codex they aren't gaunts anymore) falling out of it with termies swarming and it using a pair if scything talons to prop it up on the front and a pair aof crushing claws in the middle because i want that upgrade but the one thing im stuck on is the head because i want to somehow show the synaptic link any ideas?

I dig it. Especially the birthing tube. I can't wait to see some glossy, icky, gooey paint on that.

I don't dig the head though. I see that he's got the same thing going on all his 'nids, and it is extremely well-sculpted, but it just doesn't look Tyrannid to me.

The legs though are awesome. They took a lot of work to sculpt/convert I'm sure. But they look very 'niddy to me, while still looking unique. They look like they could be a real living thing's legs, and at the same time convey a sense of weight. VERY well done.

I have no idea how to build one, but the thing aromasin posted seems like a good start.

I dig the pic in the first post. The face reminds me of enemies from 2D-Metroid.
