Just got some more Star Wars minis and saw 2 that might be of use to 40k players.

First off Junk Golems

They're a nice hard plastic like GW stuff and should convert easily. A head swap and green stuff can make them juggers or thunder wolves. With some cutting marine legs will fit.

They're a $1.50 online.

I hear there are new killa kans and dreads on their way but if you can't wait the Telosian Tank Droid is a good starting point.

Hope this helps someone.

But are the helmets worse than mixing Space Wolf and Dark Angel bitz?

Tried it, looked awful. Once they're painted in my SOLID GOLD scheme they don't look bad, well no worse than my usual painting.

But we digress...

The toaster could at max be a Deff dread. I'd be more likely to add a plate from the stompa kit on the front.

They had an "Uggernaut" that looked neat, a two legged walker with a big gun on one shoulder and a missile launcher on the other and inline seats in the torso for two Ugnaughts. Pull the Ugnaughts out of there and replace them with whoever you want to and build a crash cage over it.

Junk Golems look very Matrix-y.

KK - you're giving Elusive a run for his money when it comes to finding ugly minis!

Gonna resurect this one. I just picked up 6 Tank droids while on a trip to Lafayette, IN. These things are huge. They are similar width as a dread, but significantly taller and more bulky. I think it would make a great Inquisition dreadnaught.

Also of note, the top roof section can be pried off with a knife. It can then be turned around so the heat-sink-like top becomes the part sloping off the back, and the sloping part (which has better detailing and hatch-like sections) can be the top. It looks much better this way. Also, the little angled "eyes" protrusion at the top is a separate piece that can be popped off once the top is removed, and it leaves only a small opening.

Based on the sheer bulk of this thing, I'm considering putting a battlecannon turret on top, a HB or LC where the double barrel weapon thing is, and running it as a Stalk Tank using Leman Russ rules.

Mine cost 3 bucks a piece. At current close-out prices, these things would be great, even if just used as scenery.

I have both of those Star Wars minis and never thought to use them for 40K! Another one I have that has been calling to me to make into a Chaos Dread or a Deff Dread is the Warforged Titan from D&D. http://www.trollandtoad.com/p117424.html

i'd say the junkers are better for chaos than the SW personally. the juggers are supposed to be metal daemonic monstrosities and the models fit well with that. a giant wolf with an occasional cybernetic upgrade? not so much.
