Hi, i recently got assault on black reach as a christmas present, and as a result of how awesome orks are, i decided to sell my imperial guard (around 1000 points), but when it came to my sentinel i remembered something i'd seen before, an ork killa kan/sentinel.
I've started to convert it, but i need a little help, at the moment it's not looking too orky and to me thats a BIG problem, if anyone could help me i would greatly appreciate it, oh, and im on a tight budget so no expensive ideas please.

Using a sentinel for a killa kan, is probably going to end up to large. Kans are pretty damn small. Now making it into a dred, is more likely. Show us a wip shot of it so far. Thatll help alot with ideas on how to orky it up.

Yeah, the legs are too long for a kan in my opinion, I too would turn it into a Dredd.

Unless you can cleanly rip the legs off and then remove one joint to make them shorter? I've done this myself to make short walkers, but obviously it's much easier with an unassembled kit than to an assembled model :(

Firstly you sold your guard if I had 1000pts of guard id be a very happy man and all on the warrant of how cool the AOBR minis are your a very brave man I dont sale my shizz unless I get a very good deal for it like swap for an army or some emmense wonga... Mini's etc etc..
Sentinel yes the cab is a spot on the legs bit too spindly for a can but a Dread thats a winner although my Dread from my first AOBR set became a deff dread for my Orks thats a winner too.

They dont call me Garybrandy for nothing!

how is it off topic? we hardly know what the topic even is!

Just was thinking but what if you cut the legs off and reattached them higher on the sentinal chassis too makr it look shorter cut a giant gash in the middle to fit a weapon (flamer rokkit etc) and then put a grabba klaw somwwhwere

I'd personally keep it roughly as is, stick big teeth to it, a bunch of rivets, and some sort of shoota bolted to the top or bottom.
at one point i was looking at doing that as my destroyers for my necrorks, but decided against it, as the kits where too pricey. might come back to it at some point though.

Thank you for all your suggestions, and i agree, it would look better as a dread, and that also fits with the ork i have poking out the top.

I have also posted some pictures, hopefully my conversion work doesn't look too nooby

OOO I like! Legs are a bit long as has been mentioned; maybe just use the legs from knee down and glue them to the sides? add a shoota or rokkit or burna and maybe a big-ass klaw and you're good to go!

This is my lasgun. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My lasgun is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my lasgun is useless. Without my lasgun, I am useless. I must fire my lasgun true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before The Emperor I swear this creed: my lasgun and myself are defenders of the Imperium, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

NO!

Kill Kans are small walkers intended to be piloted by grots. They are about the size of a GW paint pot with one CC weapon and one ranged weapon. If what you have is larger or more heavily armed, it's going to be a Def Dread.

My sentinel conversion is used as a def dread.

+1 for sentinel being used as Dread.
@ LazzurusMan
Not a bad start on you conversion,I would definatly "beef" it up some though.
A few ideas you might consider would be,adding plasticard "metal plates" and such, plasticard is easy and cheap to get (plastic "for sale" etc signs available at any walmart work fine),cut them in to rough rectangels and glue on plastic rivets (thin plastic rods work fine for making these).
Use some old guitar strings to make cables, you can get string very cheap, simply use a pin vise to drill holes in your "dread" add a dot of super glue and attach the cables in appropriate areas.
I'd also beef up the sentinels "smoke stacks",take a hollowed out bic pen tube, cut it to size, rough up the top end ,drill some holes with a pin vise and secure, add a bit of guitar string cable to the "engine " and your dread now has "a proper orky engine".
Just a few ideas for you, good luck with your army.

Thank you for all the comments, and they are all realy helpfull, i've decided to convert it into a dred, but unfortunatly i can't find any plasticard in my area . So i was thinking i might try to use the same thinkness card i used on the teef (will deffinatly beef them up a bit ) to make armour plates, the rivets on the other hand, may be a little bit more difficult. I will post more pics as the sentinel, sorry, deff dred progreses.

Might I suggest for the main body/head is to make it into a can-shape on legs.

Great start!

You cant go wrong with the Orks.

I struggled with the whole Kan dread size thing for a while. What you have going there is a dread. And like I said, a good start to a dread at that.

Oi!! Which Butt'n makes dis ting go!?!

Thanks Stump.

Well here it is at the moment, all the white is the horrible super glue i have, as well as what you see here i will be removing the wooden paint brush/exhaust pipe, and will be adding more little engine bits and plenty of wires. Iwill also be coming into possesion of money soon as it is my birthday on the 28th.
Hopefully i will then buy some of the ork bits from games workshop, hope you like it so far.
