Greetings and welcome to all concerned. First off, if you are not a player in this game please Do not post in this thread! If you are interested in becoming part of this game of Genestealer check out the main Survivor forum for a Registration Thread.

ATTENTION PLAYERS
There have been a few rules changes - to sum them up in a tl/dr fashion - there will be at least three genestealers, not two. You do not need to unvote. Day Phase now has a two week deadline. night Phase now has a 48 hour deadline. At the time of deadline the player with the most votes on him will be lynched even if the needed majority has not been reached. I also made the prodding system deadlines a little shorter - please just try to post at least once a day and all will be well.(all rules changes are included with more explanation below)

Okay FOR THE PLAYERS! Your roles will be sent to you via PM. All roles were decided by me via the use of random.com (for all your random number generation needs). I will verify that there is at least one pro-town role (like an Inquisitor or Doctor) and that there are THREE Genestealers in your midst one of whom might be a Magus. I decided that with fifteen players the evil bugs might need a helping hand.

Rules

Votes

1) Votes must be in bold, if you do not bold your vote it will not be counted. This is a good vote - Vote: Gwar! this is a not good vote - Vote:Gwar!.

2) I no longer require that you unvote - but I certainly don't mind if you do.

3) Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, their pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. Thus, as soon as any player has a majority vote that player will be lynched and all subsequent voting does not count. Feel free to post other thoughts while waiting for the lynch scene if you desire. With 7 alive 4 votes are required to lynch. With 3 alive, 2 votes would be required. Ect. ect.

4) You may vote: no lynch. If No Lynch is the majority votes at any time then the day will end with no lynch and move on to the night phase.

5) Vote counts will be tabulated and posted by me at semi-regular intervals or when requested.


Deadlines

1) I will be enforcing a fixed two week Day Phase deadline. All Night Phases have a 48 hour deadline. Deadlines will be counted from the Moderator (my) story posts that will initiate each day and night phase.

2) If deadline is reached and no player has a needed majority of votes, the player with the most votes currently on them will be lynched (so it's possible to have a lynch with only one vote). In the event of a tie the player who reached that number of votes first will be lynched.

3) If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you. If you do not submit a choice to me then nothing will happen... at all... not even a little bit.


Posting

1) The game is not to be discussed outside the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so – and then only during Night Phase. Honor system is in effect.

2) Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing. A single “Bah, you fools!” type post is allowable, but no more please.

3) No small or invisible text. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts either. Secret codes worked into your regular text are allowable. Going back and editing a post may be grounds for disqualification from the game based on my whim.

4) Don’t quote any PMs from me. If you do, I will be most unhappy. Do not metagame by using any part of role PMs to figure out what roles others may or may not have (i.e. 'everyone post the third letter from the second line of their role PM') Any such metagame activity will result in a modkill (in other words, I'll declare you dead and the game will move to the next phase)

5) If you anticipate being unavailable for more than 2 days, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

6) Game Mods are human (allegedly), if I make a mistake please PM me I will rectify the mistake as soon as I can.

7) Please bold anything you want me to see.. Also, please try to avoid bolding anything else to ensure I DO see the ones I need to.

Prods aka 'That guy hasn't posted in a while'

1)A player will get prodded if they have been inactive for two real life days.

2)Weekends count as one day. (ie If your last post is on a Thursday you will not be prodded till the Monday following)

3) If you do not pick up your prod/post in game within 24 hours of it being sent I will replace you.

4) Please post in game if you are going to be unavailable for more than 48 hours.

Misc

Remember, it’s a game and it’s supposed to be fun. Be nice to your fellow players.

The rules can and will be edited at any point if I deem it necessary.

Breaking the rules can be bad for your health, I reserve the right to modkill for serious/repeated naughtiness.

First Story Post - start of Day 1 - start of two week timer

"This is it, dig you fools, dig!"

The heat of the decaying Jungle swelters around you in shimmering waves and swarms of insects seem to cling to you like a second skin. When you'd signed on to this archaeology expedition as a guard you really hadn't expected to be stuck digging through the thick, clay-like, earth like any menial servitor. Still...you glance over your shoulder at the mass grave that marks the remains of the rest of the expedition, at least you're better off then some.

"Dig, dig faster!" The shrill voice belongs to Lady Gona' Di - the First, who was the financial backer for this operation. When the porters and other menial servants had all died in strange animal attacks over the last few days it had been she who had promised to triple your wages if all of you would only pick up shovels and keep working. Of course, if you had to listen to her order you to somehow dig quicker one more time you were pretty sure you would just smack her upside the head with a shovel and consequences be damned. "Dig you wretches! I will have the archeotech from this temple or I will have someone's head!"

You're busy getting a solid grip on your shovel as you turn towards the noblewoman when suddenly one of your fellows shouts out in surprise. His pick breaking apart a wall of hard packed earth to reveal a vast temple door. Just looking at the thing fills you with a marked sense of unease and you and the others ease back from the strange almost organic seeming symbols carved upon the structure. Lady Gona'Di clearly has no such worries as she squeals in pleasure as she bounds up to the structure.

"At last! Soon the secrets that those Eldar fools sealed away here will be mine!" She frowns as she turns to you all and begins to imperiously order you to begin the demolition work to open the doors. Thankfully you are all spared any continued screeching from the harpy as the blessed sight of the sun slipping down below the horizon signals the coming of night. Sticky with sweat and caked in the thick orange soil you exhaustedly stumble back to your tent and into a blissful slumber. You awaken in the morning to the soft hum of a light drizzle of rain splattering against your tent. You stumble out to join the others, making your way away from the tents and towards the large central areea of the camp where the food lodge was set up. Even as you near the doors you hear a shout of alarm. Grabbing out your laspistol you turn and sprint towards the insta hab structure that lady Gona'Di had arranged for herself. In moments the rest of the camp joins you and you all discover the grisly scene inside.

Lady Gona'Di is quite dead, torn limb from limb and with her entrails strung up like some perverse decoration from the rafters.

"Everyone, look here, tracks!"
"Those aren't animal tracks, that's a human footprint!"
"Ain't nothing human did that to the Lady."
"It's some sorta xenos Genestealer hybrid bug, we all saw those types of wounds before."
"Yeah, those suckers can fake looking human."

Agreeing on what type of prey you face you all grab out your weapons and follow the tracks - three pairs of matched boots, some of them still stained with blood from the murder. You slosh through the rain and the jungle, battering aside broad leaves coated in sticky stinging fronds as you force your way back to...the sleeping tents.

All of you glance at each other and the realization seeps in. There are fifteen armed and dangerous people here, and three of them are cold blooded murderers. You realize it would be foolish to start a gunfight as no one would know who to trust, and it's going to be a few days before the evac transport arrives to pick you all up from this uncivilized desolation of a planet. You all quickly agree that you need to investigate each other with questions and democratically choose who it is who should die - in death hopefully you can figure out who is human and who is some xenos beast disguised as a human.

All you know for sure, is you can only trust yourself.


It is Day 1, with fifteen alive it will take eight to lynch.

Just dropping in with an early vote count so you can see how the dynamics of the auto-lynch at deadline rule will work. i will always include a notation about who would be lynched if deadline were to be hit with the current voting situation. You would have been correct except that I have altered the rules for this game. It is all described in the first post with the rules, there is an addendum notice in bold at the very beginning of the post that briefly notes all the rules I changed.

My illustration is merely an example. But alas, if you feel that you feel that my violent death at your hands will help find the culprit, then go ahead and murder me. But all it will get you is help to narrow down the list of suspects, leading the skew to the Xenos. I want the Genestealers dead, even if it means I die to help the process of elimination.

I am afraid that if there is indeed a ManBearPig, then it is not the creature that is stalking us. No, it IS the genestealers which are behind this. I'm super SERIAL!

He looked at the others with his hand near his Bolt Pistol, ready to perform a summary execution if the culprit suddenly charged at him. "Perhaps he is still here now". He quickly turned around and pointed at Drk_Oblitr8r.

"You question a commissar? My name is not this n0t_u, it is Ace Ackart" said Commissar Ackart, pointing at Drk_Oblitr8r. "Explain!"
