I know that now that you opened it, your are expecting Daemonhunters, but I was referring to Dark Heresy, the 40k RPG made by Fantasy Flight Games. Our gaming group is starting to really get into these games, so I have taken it upon myself to make some character models for us to use in the game.

My personal favorite is up first, here is my WIP of the Tech-Priest Enginseer. I got the flesh and cloak blocked in, and am working on getting the metallic parts done.

Of course, I always do, when I am ready to finish them of course. As stated, this is a WIP.

Sorry, unless the user is asking some questions, I don't read the stuff, unless it's really short.

I kind of had to giggle at that. Especially thinking about how wordy my plog you just posted on is. Of course I wouldn't expect anyone to read all that mindless chatter...

Anyway, I dig the tech priest, will have to follow this and see how he comes along and what other characters you post. I'm really interested in getting my friends into some kind of RPG that makes use of our 40k models. Inquisitor (in 28mm) really had my eye for a while but I'm not sure it would be their cup of tea...

Inquisitor is not really a true RPG, it just has RPG elements like skill tests. It's more of a skirmish-narrative-wargame, like necromunda. I tried INQ for a while, but if we were going to have a full-on gamemasters and stuff, we decided to just splurge and get the DH books. You can find them for about 34-45 bucks on Amazon, so that isn't too bad considering that is all you need to start. Alternatively, if you want to try before you buy, you can find starter scenarios with very basic rules on their website at Fantasy Flight Games. We just got through the first two introductory scenarios and are starting in on the one included in the core book. After that... it's up to me (as a GM) to come up with some scenarios I guess. We might trade off on the GM duties, but I'm stuck with it for now I guess (the players like my reading voice ).

If you want to find out more about Inquisitor though, you can check out this forum dedicated to preserving it: http://www.the-conclave.co.uk/forum/index.php

Looks good so far, wish i could convince my RPG group to try DH again its pretty fun. Converting the models for it is great as there is so much variety in the 40k range to choose from.
will be watching this thread with interest

I will definitely have to check DH out, thanks for the resources! A few of us were really into the Star Wars RPG a few years ago (I tried to get them into Star Trek TNG, which I liked better, but y'know, it lacked lightsabers. ) So I guess I'm looking for something similar since I know they're likely to be game.

There were always some stylistic differences though. I've always been a fan of more free-form stuff so when I GM'd there was hardly any need for models whereas the other guy that GM'd and the other players wanted much more fighting and much more dice rolling so... Maybe I'm not necessarily the guy to head it up, but I just might anyway.

I think I have him pretty much done. I could do more work highlighting, but I kinda like the colors being more dull and muted. It lends to the grimdarkness more!

Here is the finished version, with added photoshop bling! Enjoy.

Very cool, your making me want to dig out my figs and try and convince my group to start up again. I really enjoyed the options that the tech-magus, have the idea of a floating cyborg lashing everyone with arcs of lightning is pretty satisfying.

What other figs are you thinking of building?

Well, I need to make an Adeptus Arbites that is a female for my wife (truth be told, I have the model already converted it just needs a rad paint job). I need to come up with a more unique version of guardsman, since that player is just using one of my standard guardsmen.

For NPCs, I could really go nuts. I want to have a psyker, a cleric, and an assassin ready to go just-in-case. I have some ready-made guys that go with 40k as well, such as penal-legionnaires I am using as Scum or Dregs, and of course I need some Genestealer Cult models. The possibilities for models is endless when it comes to NPCs.

Today I'm going to work on painting the arbites character for my wife. I also plan on making some escaped convicts, or scum (also will double as penal legion in my IG army!).

Here is where I am at currently: Only just finished the chopping and gluing.

I like the harness. Lifts and separates. Shotgun's a cool bit too.

Ah, love it! So much character. Was that your tutorial I saw for the shotgun? Looks nice.

Only thing is the knife. I can't tell what it's angle is like from these two pictures. Is it pointing more to the back or out to the side? If it's out to the side you might want to angle it back more. But that might already be the case, I may be seeing it wrong.

Anyway, great model. You're wife will officially look badass on the table.

I'm liking the progress thus far. I like seeing a collection of characters in one place, what do you have planned next?

IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)

Sorry for the lack of updates.... I got waylaid by a secret foreign plot to decimate the population of the United States... (I got food poisoning from some frozen Chinese food, not pretty.)

Anyway, as soon as my muscle spasms have subsided, I'll have a couple of new models on the way that I am planning on painting up for DH. First up, an Arcoflagellant, followed by a Chaos Cultist, and hopefully a couple of inquisitional retinue acolytes.

Hope ya feel better. I no the feeling all to well. Ironically enough that is what took me out during a trip to Vegas not the copious amount of alcohol but bad buffet food.

Is it going to be a dark assassin looking like model or a special unit? Very curious to what this guy is gonna be....perhaps a commando?

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds." ~ HK-47

Well, these are all characters for my Dark Heresy 40k RPG games, so the character is an Adeptus Arbites (kinda the equivalent of 40th millennium FBI) that my wife will be playing.

I am feeling much better today, so maybe when I have some free time from watching the kids I'll be able to get some things done.
