I was thinking of cutting some Sytheing talons and reversing the "sharp edge". I don't know of anywhere to get left handed bone swords. What do people think? would this be good enough?

Should be fine. Use some green stuff & you can make it look better if you want

as long as it's obvious that they aren't scything talons and you are consistent it shouldn't be a problem.



Something like that where it's a bit more than just a reversal makes it more obvious.

I've done it with the Scytals for a Warrior. (Here) Not tried making any for a Tyrant yet.

It works out well. I found that I needed to file off some of the Carapace stuff, however.

Nice idea, Drunkspleen, that does make them look more swordlike.

This raises a good point - the Imperium calls them bone swords, presumably because they look boney and swordlike, but they're not actual swords in the normal sense, so any boney and swordlike thingies are perfectly fluffy.

Thanks for the replies and I think that pic looks good. I used some monstrous creature ones to make mine for the swarm lord I really like them. I will try to get some pics up asap. Boy am I happy I magnatized all my MC.

I think you should lose the armor plates on the outside edge and sharpen it up into more of a blade.

I dunno, the armor plates work. They make the blade look more organic.

However--I would reverse them so the armor plating is facing inwards as a kind of 'pommel'.

But then it just continues to look like a Scytal. Sharpening the outside edge makes them look more like the swords they're supposed to be.

Maybe blunting the tips of the talon and making it look more like a slashing weapon ala the older Bone Swords?

Thanks for more ideas guys. For now I am going to keep them like they are only because everyone that has seen it in person really likes it that way. I am undecided as of yet, I really like the blunting the end idea like the bone sword is. I will play a round a few days and think what else to add or how to change it. I will throw these ideas at the guys too and see how they feel.

HAHA just had a nice comment after looking at this post friend said it makes since like this the armour plating is what helps parry all those power weapons for the 4+ invuln.
