Hi there,

After all the help i had making up my 2000pts,

I have started collecting the bits and pieces needed, so i thought i would set up this to let you see my progress and get some comments if anyone has any.

This is the first of two Vindicators in my army. And my first attempt using green stuff

The rear of the vindi looks like just circles etched on the greenstuff.. kinda looks flat 2d, for more of a round efect and pus looking bubbles get some pen caps and use those. Also use a thicker layer of green stuff.

Its looking good, Im converting some CSM into Death Guard PM, but... i decided not to use greenstuff (chicken out) and... they dont look as good as your vindi! keep up the good work.

Might I recommend putting on a thin layer of greenstuff, letting it sit for about 10 minutes or so, then taking a dental pick and stabbing it in and moving in a circular motion until a hold in it forms. Do this all over and you get a rather disgusting effect. Just vary the sizes a bit. It will look like pustules.

Just a thought, since you aren't too far in yet.

That Vindicator looks fantastic. to reiterate the early comments it looks a bit flat....but no worries a damned good attempt for your first GS....Am I correct.?

Keep up the good work and I hope we can expect some more in the future.

They dont call me Garybrandy for nothing!

how is it off topic? we hardly know what the topic even is!

Cheers for the help, Yea at 31 its my first time using it.

I see the point about it being a little flat, i will use more GS and not be so tight with it.

I have been playing with a few different ways of applying it but i will give the dental pick a try.

Many Thanks for the info, all comments welcome

Cheers

No problem. Just use a touch of petroleum jelly to lubricate the tool, or it will give you hell.

Thats really nice for your first serious greenstuffing attempt.

Don't forget the damn stuff changes as it dries (contracts and hardens) and some things need to be sculpted during different times of the drying process i.e make carapace armour plates, let them dry a little to harden and then reshape to define the sharper edges. I know this isn't specifically relevant now but may help in the future. Oh and don't forget you can reshape afterwards with a scalpel and some files too. if you start to struggle making blisters and bubous don't forget you can imbed things like ball bearings and beads to get a similar effect.

good luck will watch with interest
