So I took on the job of painting my brother's new bloodthirster for his new army. This is how it came out...

Thats a nice old school bloodthirster. I don't like the purple, but its nice to see some variety. It looks sort of like a cartoon, which I like in a way.

I think the base really really really need to be black.

The silver on the axe handle , whip tip + the purple and the light gray rock are dispersing the focus of the model into all different direction.

Only a black base can attempt to bring the focus back.

This was the color scheme I was asked to paint. Can't get around what I would do and what someone asked for

I LOVE the pile of heads on the base! That's a neat bit of modeling right there.

The Bloodthirster itself looks perfectly respectable, but there's something about it that makes me go "Meh" instead of "Holy Smokes!". The lines are clean and it's a nice paint job, but there's just something not quite right. Luna may be right and it could be the color contrast - I just don't know. It's definitely a nice piece any which way though, just something subliminal could be tweaked.

Thanks! I get a kick out of the base more so than I do the model itself. Poor Orks couldn't hang with this mamma jamma!
