So this past saturday, Warmonger33 and I played in a siege game, where I was the attacker with
WoC/Orcs against his defending daemons... I know I know... WHY ARE DAEMONS DEFENDING A CASTLE? As far as you know there is some crazy daemonic artifact beneath the surface of the castle and they must not loose it... or something like that. I dont have lists for you sadly but My
WoC/OnG was 10,000 points versus his 5,000 points of Daemons.... A few major parts of the list however, I was using a Great Chaos Dragon, and a Angkor, Father of Mammoths (Chaos WarMammoth). And he was using 2 Greater Daemons (Bloodthirster and Unclean One) as well as Belakor.
The casltes were broken up per wall/tower as objectives and the courtyard was split into quarters as objectives. I started 24" away from the Castle, I set up first and Daemons get the first turn. Heres the Set up.
I didnt keep track of everything but I wrote down all the major stuff that happened each player turn.
Daemon Turn 1: Comet of Cassadora (or what ever it is... dont have book on hand) goes off with irresistable force right in the middle of all my warriors.
Warriors Turn1: Comet hits, killing all my spider riders, a unit of warhounds, a few black orcs and warriors. First Goblin Shaman miscasts followed by a double 1 roll on the table. No major losses. Second Goblin Shaman miscasts followed by a 10 on the table. Hellcannon Misfires and eats his crew. I kill the Herald who cast the comet.
Daemon Turn 2: Nothing amazing happens, Giant and Giant Spined Chaos Beast both loose 3 wounds.
Warriors Turn 2: Angkor charges the first wall! Does not destroy it though.
Deamon Turn 3: Reserve force of 15 fleshhounds and a Herald on Juggernaught come in from the corner edge where the Dragon was.
Warriors Turn 3: Seige Tower w/ Grimgor Ironhide hits the the castle.
Deamon Turn 4: The Fleshhound reserve charges the Giant Spined Chaos Beast and overrun him. Plague Bearers go through the main gate. Mammoth Destroys the first wall.
Warriors Turn 4: Mammoth turns his attention to the closest tower. Warriors w/ great weapons and exalted charge the Plague Bearers and out of 14 wounds, the Daemons make all their saves! They proceed to beat me in combat, pursue and capture me.
Daemon Turn 5: Mammoth destroys the tower.
Warriors Turn 5: Grimgor claims the first wall in the name of Chaos? Wait that doesnt make sense... oh well lets just go with it. And a unt of Warriors also reaches a wall and take it with unrelenting force.
Daemon Turn 6: Bloodthirster Charges Daemon Prince and overruns into the Mammoth!
Warriors Turn 6: Chaos Lord charges the Bloodthirster, a bad idea indeed. Grimgor and Warriors continue to claim walls for chaos!
Daemon Turn 7: Great Unclean one charges the unit of orcs that have been contesting the first broken wall. They get slaughtered. Bloodthirster annihilates the Chaos Lord
Warriors Turn 7: Chaos Dragon returns to the game after a long battle with the Fleshhound reserves, sadly it is the last turn and too late for him to wreak anymore havoc. Bloodthirster does a mere 2 wounds to Angkor and in return the Mammoth deals back 5
str 10 attacks and wounding him 3 times. The Blood Thirster is finally dead... after he over ran a deamon prince and a chaos lord...
Game Result:
Warriors of Chaos: 5 Objectives
Daemons of Chaos: 1 Objective
Warriors of Chaos Victory!
Although I won the game it was a majorly unfair game in all honesty. It basically put 2 close combat armies on a table and put a giant unbreakable wall between them. Both armies were Khorne however so really... blood is blood right? I would say its a tie.
