Does anyone have a good method for this? I think the Metal ones look silly.

I'm thinking of stealing something from the IG line, either the HWS's Autocannons or the Sentinel's.

Take plastic heavy bolter CSM, replace HB barrel with IG autocannon barrel, stick AC magazine on side of HB instead of belt of bullets.

It seems like the Heavy Bolter body wouldn't fit well. What about cutting off the grips/hands and adding those to the AC?

The other thing I was thinking about is using the Defiler's Reapers, splitting them in half.

Chop off those useless autocannons from your defiler kits, clip off the barrel of a few bolters, and glue them together (sorry the pic is blurry, its old)

Each twin linked autocannon will make 2 havocs. Then chop off the gun belts and glue the autocannon one onto the bottom of the autocannon.
