I was looking into getting into this game as I love the way the models look on the Wyrd Miniatures website. I keep hearing it called "heroic scale" and pictured them to be Warmachine size or larger.

However, at my local store, I saw some people playing it and the figures were smaller than Lord of the Rings minis. I asked them about it and they said they bought the faction boxes.

Are there different scales of this game?

They're all the same I'm pretty sure.

28mm heroic, sure. Maybe the guys you saw were just using small minis? I did happen to see a size comparison, let me dig it up...
