I can't say I like the mis-matched symmetry of the apendages, but the color scheme is well executed.

BTW, that trip of yours to the UK I've been hearing about looks like fun. Safe travels!

Yes I too struggled for the best look. I finally went with the bigger claws as I wanted to bulk out the model in general. I will try to post some more birds eye pictures and hopefully I can swing your "eye" back....I do completely understand your symmetry comment.

As for the tour... Well thank you. You are more than welcome to come aboard. It really is for anyone that is interested in 40k or miniatures in general. We have a great tour lined up. Take a look at it at the site (I am really trying hard not to sell it too much boys - but it will be a blast). So far it is mature (well almost) 40K players that are coming...

Anyway thanks for both comments

Most likely they single more awesome hive tyrant i have ever seen.

I would feel shamed playing against such a well painted and crafted model.

The colour scheme is great, but I agree with FoxPhoenix.

The paint is really cool, but I agree with the masses in saying that the mis-match doesn't look so hot.

I would love to go, but I don't have several grand to spend to do it! Thanks for offering anyway.

Back on topic though, what did you use to extend the head ridge spines? It looks like the extended carapace pieces but I am uncertain.

To bad Maybe next time...

I used the spiky bits in the old monstrous creature sprue and a bunch of green stuff. It was a bit of a pain ....

Btw I also removed the old "face" part and used the new plastic carni face instead. I used the old style HT lash whip for the tongue. The flesh hooks are the new HT toes. And the toxin sacs are liberated from old nid weapons...

I rather like the 'mismatched' look myself - he's a war-torn, beat up, mutated tough ol' SOB.

Nicely done!
