So, I ordered a set of forgeworld vets with shotguns (insanely cool models). Unfortunately, the torsos I received are significantly smaller than the standard Cadian plastic set, making the models look as if they have massive hips/arses (I have not glued them yet, but have test fitted them against the plastic legs from both the squad pack and the heavy weapons team). Obviously, I don't really want to be left with a set of ever so slightly ridiculous looking resin models, so I was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions to what I can do? I suspect that the forgeworld guys have just used the models with normal legs and stuck a whole lot of extra gear around the waist to cover up the size difference (which looks fine in the photos, but I'm not to sure about in rl). I also tried fitting the torsos with Catachan plastic legs, they fit much better but then the models look weird with 2 belts and I'm not sure how much I trust my green stuff skills to model a new coat-skirt to the top of the pants. I haven't taken any photos yet, but I'm hoping that someone has worked with these models already? I'm kind of desperately seeking inspiration here...

Oklahoma City, Ok.

lots of "Flair"!
grenades, knives, canteens, pouches, etc... is what i used.
they turn out better when painted. the way i positioned the torsos on mine the gap was towards the rear.
once i put on the grenades or whatever, they turned out just fine.

@alarmingrick: Thanks very much for quick reply, and for the excellent photos! I was wondering though, would you be able to post any of the models from the side and behind? It'll make me alot more confident in using my own models if I know how they will turn out...

@Tacobake: I know, right!

Well here's half of my vet squad, I do agree a bit that the torsos are a bit small compared to the legs, but after adding bags and painting, you can't even tell.

Thanks guys! This makes me feel a whole lot more confident in using my pieces... Hopefully I can make them look as awesome as your squads. Just one more question: did you guys have to cut the legs to make the shotgun belts fit? Or did you just fiddle with the position and cover up the gap on the other side?

fiddled with the position, personally. FW doesn't make it easy to use their pretty toys....
