About 7 hours of effort. Overall, I like it. I enjoyed building and painting the model. Not a fan of those weird pincer things on the mouth/jaw, so I took them off. It is my no means propainted, but it's the level of tabletop quality I'm trying to get my army to.

You shouldn't do yourself the injustice of "tabletop" quality.
Tabletop IMO is base colours=>wash=>base.

These are good. Revel in that

My words just now were (out loud) "Very nice, verrry nice".

Very nice trygon, i especcally like the effect you got on the tail poisney things.

TheCyben: Seriously though, I'm not advocating GW to model any Boosh characters. If they have to pick one, it would have to be Tony Harrisson... but that would be an outrage.

Yea, no kidding. These are very well painted. Most people only use the required 3 colors with maybe a wash and some more color on the detail. Playing with these would show up most other players who paint their own models.

Beautiful paintjob- definitely higher than what I'd call 'tabletop'

Edit: What did you use for the blood on the base of the Trygon? I'm after finding a realistic blood effect for when I get around to painting the casualty on my Hierodule's base.

It actually annoys me when people paint THIS WELL, and then try to tell everyone its table top. Way past table top man. Very nicely painted

And seven hours of effort. Why is it that people that can paint well, not only do great work such as this, but they always do it so much faster than you. I spend days on a model, and it doesn't look anywhere near that. Great work!

lol I'm surprised at the comments. I don't play with it unless it's painted to this standard or similar. Then again I paint a lot of nids.

Here's my army from last dex... repainting almost everything:

my words when i saw the trygon the first time:

HOOOOOOOOOLLLLY S******************************************!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is really fine work, especially with the base to, making a good base needs as much work as painting the model it goes on.

I agree completely. This is not tabletop, this is much, much higher.

I can understand where the OP is coming from. The mini is painted in such a way that there doesnt seem to be any blending. Dark colour has been brushed on, followed by a lighter colour then another followed by a glaze (well, thats what it looks like up close).

Although painted quickly, the mini still "pops" as the layers of colours chosen work really well. Its also very neat and tidy.

You don't see models up close when gaming. Your army will look amazing.

Its no "Golden Demon" but your style works really well. Best table top quality you can get IMO.

Currently collecting and painting Eldar from W40k.

Awesome 'nid scheme. Nice and effective, and I agree this is the top end of 'tabletop' quality minis
