Hey guys.

This is the army i decided to start after a long time. i played for a couple of years when i was 12,

so this is really my "first" real army.
I decided to paint black templars in a flesh tearers colour scheme.

Here is what i have so far

Marshall Dercius
Dreadnought Corter
Crusade Squad Alphrus
Crusade Squad Brucion

Personal note : I have used "SonsofOrar" 's idea to use a book as a background. Props for his imagination.

My next step is to get a squad of 10 assault marines up.

Looks cool thus far. Good choice of photographic background.

Thanks.
The third one down is a mix of bitz.

The torso, helmet, and cape are from the BT uprgrade box
The arms and shoulders are from the command box
the legs are from an assault marine box.

Great start to them! Question though how do you plan to highlight the black?

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

The black is drybrushed adamite grey, then washed with badab black. I prefer to do it this way, is it still looks black but has a realistic look to it aswell.

Thanks guys~!

im still painting my assault squad :S
its taking a while as i have TAFE and work so i only really have 1 free day. but its almost there :S

with the dreadnought, the front part is made from the back of a space marine torso, well done imperial monkey!

the part under the torso is the waist from a terminator torso (aobr). lots and lots of cutting was involved in that dreadnought, which i might add is from the AoBR box set. so you can buy that for like $25 and easy fix it up with spare parts, and cutting (which is not so easy, i used a hobby knife and a hammer, kind of like a chisel)

i know the photos are a bit blurry with the robes but as soon as they are finished i will post them up.

thanks for the kind comments guys
to answer Munch Munch about the book.

I used Page 118 - 119 "The Gothic War"
in the 4th edition "Warhammer 40,000 Rule Book"

which i might add i found on the side of the street, along with the inquisitor rulebook and a necrons codex!

They look nice, are you gonna paint in the eye lenses of their helmets though?? Would put a finishing touch to the excellent modelling done here
Also, If you want to make them look more weathered very easily then purchase some tamiya weathering powders because they work wonders

thanks for the comments guys,
yea i might add the lenses and stuff.
i realised on the assualt marines i forgot to paint the purity seals, that annoying.
as for the weathering effect i haven't seen it. ill google it and look at the effects and maybe ill try it.

so next up is the dreadnought.

Lovely contrast in colours, well chosen and well executed. Look forward to follow this blog's updates.

I've got to agree though that the assault marines would benefit from the finishing touches been made, eye lenses and purity seals especially. Also are the barrels drilled out? If not it really does add to the model.
