Making chainlink fence out of onion bag and dowels. How to I make them stay together realisticly? Without putting glops of glue on it and hoping it looks like weld. I'm working on this project as you are reading, so quick responses appreciated! Thanks dakka in advance.

Hot glue gun. Sticks almost anything together.

Or how about staples? Got a stapler? You might be able to link them to the fence with a well-placed staple.

Real chain linked fences are connected to the bars by a peice of wire. Use thing wire to keep them on the dowels. That or thread it through them.

Go to your local Walmart and get 24 gauge floral wire. It is very thin wire which you can use to fasten your fench to the post much like a real chainlink fence. Im actually working on a similar project. I'll post some pics for you...

Twist-ties (little wire bits that come with freezer bags and the like) work quite well too. You just need to strip the paper or plastic coating off them... usually comes off fairly easily, and leaves a nice thin piece of wire.
