does anyone use Sabol with their Vendy's? i've seen the double sized one for Baneblades, and think they'd work. a friend that runs a LGS is trying his hardest to get me to order Battlefoam. i do like it, but i've got 4 Sabol bags already. it'd cost me a ton to switch everything over.
hell, i'd even entertain a 3rd option if feesable.

Honestly, speaking on behalf of non IG players everywhere I think the best way to transport them is to hit them repeatedly with a hammer and slip them into a ziploc baggie which is then thrown in an incinerator. ;-)

Seriously though, if the wings aren't glued on (and they don't need to be) storage isn't nearly as bad.

The little antennas off the front are a complete , from what I've seen.

My antenna is attached to the wing root on the Starboard (right) side as my multilaser is a chin mount (not turret, it is fixed, like a Warthog's GAU-8 Avenger).

The wings come off and the two of them can be transported in a spare bootbox (as in the sturdy cardboard box one of my wife's pairs of boots came in).

So what kind of trouble.

I went for a simpler approach (gaming piece) on my first one (2nd one is in the works and will be a more 'display' model) and will have 'proper' weapons.

Mine are 'sponson' mounted to the forward part of the fuselage (just forward of the doors) and point forwards (the actual heavy bolters CAN do this, but then the doors won't close fully). There's no real point to having the full traverse on them as the wings are in the way anyway.

The description says it can be upgraded with two sponsons, not two door gunners with heavy bolters, after all. Those guys went into my bits box for another project.

The double sized foam works great but if you have the wings glued you can really only fit one model in the tray.

so basicly 2 per Motorpool? thanks for the photo. it helped alot!

even if the wings are removable, which mine are, can't you only get one Vendetta in each tray?

I ran into a problem with the removable wings and ended up having to glue them in place. After a while the connection point got so worn from assembly/reassembly every gaming night the wings would just fall off mid-game. Unless you have magnets or something other than just the tabs to hold it in place, it seems like the same thing will occur.

As for transportation, I currently have a box-o-Vendettas that I transport the six blighters in. Any type of foam would increase their volume to unpheasable levels, but then I have 6, with just 2 or 3 you can probably get by.

Glad to help!

I just did some quick measurements and the hull of the Vendetta is three inches wide. Each square of the foam tray is an inch across and the tray has eleven squares, so you *should* be able to fit two wingless models side by side with room to spare for their wings and the flight bases. I haven't actually tried this, though, so it is all theory and weak math (humanities student here, not a math person) so please take this with a grain of salt.

And yes, you can fit two double wide trays in a motor pool, so two Valks to a case.

That's how I store mine. My base is in a different foam layer.

first, thanks to Everyone for the input!

Tek:
i like those, but for the price, i could probably get the Battlefoam ones for around the same price(before S/H).

Valhallan42nd:
what size is that one? i'm guessing the standard 4" tray? (13 x 7.5 x 4) if so, then i could get 4 in a Motorpool.

That's the standard 4 inch sabol tray.

Looking at it now, I realize that I could have set up more efficently, and possibly have fit the base in there as well.
