Hi,
browsed through the Micro Art Studio forum and found these three WIP "Hive bases" fitting a Tyranid army and, hidden on the first pic, the first glimpse on Samurai rat heads fitting an Eshin themed Skaven army:

Discussed in this thread of the Micro Art Studio forum:
http://microartstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=208

No release date given. Just early WIP.
BTW there will also be Steampunk rat heads fitting a Skryre Skaven army some time in the future.

They look very cool, but would be a paint to actually mount a miniature on.

agree with insainiak would be something fun but overall practicallity is low on those. I do however enjoy the rat heads.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Wow, I really like those bases! They'd make nice ones for Warriors and similar-sized 'nids judging from the looks of it. They look too small for the big boys. I think just a dab of green stuff under the feet would get them level with the base just fine.

Those are pretty cool, nice and sharp! I wonder how the consumers will react to them though for tabletop armies and not display bases, since they will obviouly not blend in to most terrains...

Still, i don't wargame so I would be perfectly happy to use them on a nid or two! Great job

Actually, it fits quite well if you look at the background, as every planet with Tyranids on it is transformed into something "alien". So NOT having any alien terrain on the gaming table is unfitting. And as with every resin base, you should glue the miniatures on with 2 component epoxy glue instead of super glue, to fill the gaps.

BTW that's why I always bring FW and other Tyranid terrain (painted in my armies colours) with me for a game, including a digestion pool.

At the very least they would make decent objective markers, especially with something else mounted on them.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I asked (again!) on their forums, and was told that they're hoping to have them ready for some event in April (Salut?), so they're hoping to have these LONG awaited figures ready to go end of March.

Fingers crossed and cash ready to spend!

You are quite correct about the fluff for sure. And since you have terrain to bring with you then that totally works as well. I wasn't saying I thought it wouldn't work, in fact as I said I think they are quite awesome, just wondering how hot or cold the reception to these will be, as they are quite unique and out of the ordinary vs most other themed bases that tend to be rubble based or industrial, know what I mean?

I for one hope they do well!
