I was reading through the new Apocalypse book from Forgeworld today and I came across the Mekboy Junka. It sounds like a fun addition to my army and an interesting conversion project, so I am pretty tooled up about building one. I have an extra land speeder laying around that I was thinking about using, but I am probably going to go with a basilisk chassis (earth shaker removed of course).

Has anybody built one? If so, I would like to see the direction you chose.

Thoughts on usefulness?

Could provide an extra KFF or SAG and transport the Big Mek.

Thanks.

Space Wolves: 4000 pts

Orks: 3000 pts

Well, most of the time (unless you roll a 1) it's a KFF that can keep up with Trukks and has a Deffrolla. There's nothing bad about that!

I'm making at least one kitted out that way (with red paint job, of course) to help out my big bunch of trukks. It's tempting to make my SAG mek into a SAG junka, too, just so the model sees some use...

I mostly play Apocalypse, mind; don't know if it's worth its points in a standard game. I think, however, that an extra KFF in a mechanized ork force is always a welcome thing. I'd probably rather take a KFF/Deffrolla Junka over a Battlewagon any day of the week.

I wouldn't bother with a shokk/zzap/big zzap junka as any roll of 11 or 12 are disgarded.

It's AV11 and in apoc, espcially if it is equipped with a KFF/deffrolla, it'll be dead 1st turn.

It's a fun unit, other than that, i won't be building one, i'd rather spend my time converting up/working on a kustom battle fortress w/3x supa kannons

Nah- there's plenty of other stuff for the enemy's big guns to shoot at (stompa!) and with the 4+, my trukks survive pretty well. It'd survive just as well. In my experience (mostly vs. IG and Tau) it's more about how many targets I bring and less about their armor values. Your group may vary, etc.

Hehe, the amount of D weaponry that gets thrown at me at times makes me cry
