Yeah, so I signed up for this mini-tournament at my FLGS - 500pts of Elites only.
I'm playing orks and just wondered if anyone had any ideas/suggestions? I'm thinking Nobz perhaps with a Battlewagon as a dedicated transport and... not sure what else, if anything. I have a feeling that presenting as many targets as possible might be a worthwhile idea - I'm likely to be facing Space Marines at some point, who will have a relatively small amount of models on the board. I think turning this to my advantage will be key, especially with no Troops, HQ, Heavy or Fast Attack to fall back on.

So, I'm throwing it open to the floor.

Thoughts?

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

2 Deff Rolla battlewagons, 3 meganobz, and nobs for the rest could be OK. 2 Deff rolla wagons, meganobz, and burnas could also work well. Open up the transports with your meganobz/deff rollas and then put a crapload of flame templates on them and watch them do the burny dance.

Alternatively, lootas to open up transports and burnas in a battlewagon to take advantage of opened transports.

Take one unit of nobz bikers? At least that would be what I would least like to see plopped down on the table across from me, heh.

Why does my eldar army run three fire prisms? Because the rules wont let me use four in (regular 40k).

@Culler - Burnas can't take a BW as a dedicated transport, and as such would count as a Heavy choice, no?

You got it, unless the mega nobz or nobz get out and the burna's jump in.

I would go with some combination of Nobs and BW or nob bikers. Burna's if you have the points to spare. I can't think of any Elites unit (not inculding LR dedicated transports) that Orks would not be able to deal with easily.

This tournament sounds very interesting.

DukeRustfield - There's nothing wrong with beer and pretzels. I'm pretty sure they are the most important members of the food group.
