So decided to create one big thread of goodness rather than having a bunch of threads here and there. Makes life much more easier.
Just in case you have missed on the other two threads, have a look and let me know what you think : Keeper of Secrets and Snikch
So continuing on, here is my unit of 26 Skink cohort for my all skink army. This unit will accompany Tetto'eko into battle.
Going for a nice neutral and natural color scheme for my skinks and lizradmen in general.
Lizardmen has been my first army since the 6th ed and will always be my main Fantasy army since I love every thing about them.
Since the 7th ed book came out I liked the fact the skinks have become somewhat (emphasis on somewhat ) more useful and just more fun to use. Since I don't play tournaments very often, I like to create fun lists to play against opponents in the store.
Let me know what you guys think of them so far.
Thanks

I do normally base my infantry models after I have painted them....this is true to when I have to do 48+ skinks .
More intricate basing would be left for characters and monstrous creatures for their bases allows them for more flexibility and creativity
This would be seen when I go ahead and work on my razordon, salamanders, Kroxigors, and Tehenhauin in the near future

Here is something that I have been working on for a online painting competition a few weeks back. As all online competition, I did not post them on the site for the purpose of fairness to all other painters.
The competition is at its end and though I did not make the top three, it was a great opportunity to do something like this. It also gave me a chance to paint something that is not GW...the Pirate Queen Skarre from PP, which was a great miniature to paint.
Let me know what you guys think and in what areas you think I could have improved on.
You can vote for them on CMON:

Alright my next update of the lizardmen army. Here is the next highlight for the army....just need to complete 11 more skinks and I'll be onto my next step (I think this is gonna be my last horde list I attempt Feel sorry for Skaven players )
In addition here is Tetto'eko in his glorious self. Simple conversion from the Stegadon kit. Just used the skink priest and the engine of the god seating for the palanquin. Once I complete the unit of skinks I'll start on this guy.
Also in between breaks I am trying to paint this guy up: Canis Wolfborn. I really like this model and I had him in the closet for too long. So its time to lay some paint on him.
Started on his wolf for now and wanted to go with the traditional black/grey/white feel for him. Setting to a slow start I have been layering and washing the fur to try to achieve the right look to it. I really find it very difficult to get the right texture on fur, not to mention paint on fury texture, so any advice on that part is highly appreciated.
Hopefully the wolf would be completed in the next few days.
BTW base.....too much or not

I have continued some work on Canis' wolf today by adding more highlights and shadowing to the grey/white area. Still needs some work, but I'm really satisfied on how this is coming along.
As always C&C are much appreciated

Alright....up with a new update.
I am doing a commission work for someone that wanted a Malifaux Seamus Redchapel gang box set painted up for him. I decided to take on the challenge because a) some of these models are great b) wanted to expand my self with painting other mini manufacturer out there.
First up is Madam Sybelle. Started to work on the front torso. I am trying to achieve a nice leather effect, which soon enough found it a little difficult to achieve. I don't want to overdue it on the highlights, but yet again don't want to make it flat.
So all comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.....until next time

Hey I always enjoy Malifaux stuff some of the models are gorgeous. The Skink colour scheme looks great and I'm really impressed with Tetto-Ekko is that the Engine of the Gods bits from a Stegadon. With Canis Wolfborn I don't think you can go much more over the top than the original concept to be honest.....It really does look cool though.

@Llamahead---glad you liked my lizardmen....and yes Tetto'eko was based from the Engine of the Gods bits. I ended up magnetizing the flying base tip to the palanquin for easy storage.
As for Madam Sybelle, I was able to get some work done on the model today.
Worked on her sleeves and back.
Please let me know what you guys think

Thank DG....this is my first time painting this range of miniatures and so far I like what I see. They have great looking models. Though one thing that does bug me is how delicate these models can be. Right now I'm trying not to break that wipe of her's....keeps bending
As for now I'm pretty much done with the clothing....just need to finish off the frills that come out from it.
But before I do so, I decided to paint the skin for ease....(and a change in color )
I should be done with the model by Monday evening if all goes down as planned.

Thanks Luna...not sure how....but I think that was a trick of the camera I guess. It doesn't look as greasy/waxy in person
Was able to get the stockings done and started a little bit on the wipe.
Should I add a bit more of the flesh color into the stockings or not?
Thanks

I think the garter belt can use alittle bit more fleshy color ( closer to the flesh tone used ) atm it looks part gray and part brown ish.

Thanks Luna....I'll definitely have a look on it later on....for now I put it on the side, so I can go back at it with a refreshed mined (she drove me nuts for a few days )
Alright...been quite for a bit, but here again for a new update.
Started on the first Rotten Belles model. Worked mostly on her skirt for now....so please excuse the mess for everything will come together soon.
Purple is probably the one color I have worked with so much....don't know why....but it seems I always go back to it, no matter I much I hate working with that color

I like em, a lot. The old fat lady though could use some fishnets. Use black and line it with a grid pattern on the grey. Looks great though, i like the pinkish dress on the newest one.

Never attempted fishnets before.....I already find it difficult to attempt the stocking itself, but something to try for sure.
Would you say do the whole thing with the lines or do patches here and there to represent fishnets?
Thanks

The patches would work, then it would look like the fishnets were torn, or tearing. But hey what i do to try a freehand i havent yet is take a random bit and base it in the color that i originally used, for you the gray and i try the idea i have in my head, if it works then i try it on the mini. Its up to you though.

The dress is pretty much done and now working on the top portion of the model. I found out quickly that pink is a strange and difficult color to work with....ended up mixing some flesh color to the pink in order to bring some smoothness and adherence to the model.
Needs a little bit of work....but getting there.

Back again with a quick update!!
The overall clothing is pretty much done....need to touch up on the details---frills etc.
In addition have already started on the skin and just in need to finish up some final highlighting and face detail.
The arms will be finished off with "arm stockings" if that is what they are called....that's why they look a bit unfinished.
Should be able to get this done by tomorrow.
C&C are always welcomed
Thanks

Thanks brush_slip....I'm glad you really like my work
The same can be said to you too....always keeping an eye on your DKOK army and other work
I have to shamelessly say that I have used the zoom button which is a big "no no" when taking pics of miniatures, but needed to take a head shot....just to see how it turns out
Though needless to say you can notice how pix-elated the last photo is
More to come soon

Up with another update....
Started on the second Rotten Belles. Hopefully this one will go by a little quicker than the other two, since red is a color I find easy to work with.
She is near completion as far as her clothes go....maybe a little bit of highlight and shading on her dress.
Hope you like it
