As part of the new roll-out of changes to make the Dakka SwapShop nicer and easier to use, we are introducing the Dakka Swap Shop Painting Services List.

Rather than having individuals/groups periodically posting up new threads, we encourage painting services to post in this thread so that we can have a stable listing of painters. This helps keep Painting Services on the front page, and members looking for painters won't have to dig around the forum backlogs anymore.

That being said, this thread, similar to the Reputable Traders list, will hopefully provide Dakkites a list of reliable Painting Services for those seeking to have their armies/models well painted.

Here's how the Painting Services List will work:

Painting Services -
If you are offering a painting service, please post in this thread to let us know who you are and whatever other pertinent information you need to provide (ie, if you have standard prices/website/alternate contact info, etc). Please keep the information concise. I would recommend posting some (just need a handful, try to keep the image sizes manageable) examples of your painting so that users can get a feel for your abilities.

I will add your names to a list of Painting Services at the end of this post, periodically updating the list with any new services.

Others -
If you have had good experiences with any of these painting services in the past and would like to 'endorse' them, we ask that you post their user names in this thread. Simply post in this thread your name and who you endorse, like this for example (this is made up):

No other information is needed, although if you would like, you may post the details/scope of the transaction (eg, 1500pt Ork army).

Periodically, I will go through this thread and add your endorsement under the painter's name in the Painting Services List(1st post). This way, users can judge which Painting Services provide good work and service. Note: Endorsements are not intended to suggest one Painting Service is better than an other. They are merely a way to provide testimonials/referrals to others seeking a Painting Service.

I was very pleased with the job BK Army Painting did for me.

There's a new painter in town and his attention to detail, use of various techniques and great use of subdued colors makes him a must for, at the very least, Ork players

Devinb1690 recently painted a Forgeworld Ork Warboss on bike to a fantastic standard. Not only is ever detail finely painted, the entire model has that worn grimey look which can be oh so hard to achieve on freshly painted ork models.

I once heard one of the most important things to paint on an Ork is their skin. Devinb1960 did a wonderful job with the skin tone as well as the highlights. In addition, the eyes are a fierce red which makes the model truly stand out as the ferocious boss it's meant to be.

The model can be seen in Devinb1690's gallery.

In short order I plan to utilize this painter's service once more for a large handful of lootas. His rates may be a little higher than the industry standard ($4 per infantry model) but what you get is a model above tabletop quality with absolutely no flaws, which has been one of my chief concerns with painting services after reading a number of articles about other commissions gone wrong.

If you play Orks, want a very well painted army which looks both natural and fierce, I highly recommend Devinb1690!

My pricing depends on the level of detail you are looking for, but tends to run $4 -$5 per infantry ($7-$10 for termie sized stuff), vehicles/monstrous creatures are cost + %25-%50.
