This is my planned scheme. The only thing i'm wondering is how to build the color and highlights.
I'm using liquitex flo-aid and for highlighting i'm using Slo-dry by the same company.
Im thinking obviously using
Primer: Black Krylon Primer
Coat 1: Fiery Orange / Bestial Brown 1:1 Mix
INK Coat: Black Ink/Chestnut Ink 1:1 Mix
Coat 2: Fiery Orange
Coat 3: Fiery Orange / Bleached Bone 1:1 Mix
Do you think this is the best method or would you suggest something diffrent.
I like to use at least a dark, mid-tone and a highlight.
But I would be willing to try something else.

It seems odd, but you might consider starting with dark flesh. It has a great red/brown tone and I didn't discover it until recently but I love it for really dark reds or orange undertone. After that you're looking good until the bleach bone. I'd use either sunburst if you want bright, or golden yellow if you want a little more muted color. I think you'll end up with an orange similar to the color of those marshmellowly cirrus peanut candies.
Post up a model when you get a prototype done of either scheme!

Certainly different, but in a good way. I would personally start from a red basecoat and work though to the orange. Think it may depend on whether you're going to be doing pristine or dirty marines as well.

Only point I'd make is that you might have issues getting fiery orange since it's not still produced.
Nothing worse than getting half way through an army and having to change your scheme.

i don't use citidel paints anyhow i only use the desciption because it's what everyone knows hehehe.
I use Vajello paints now. Much smoother application and don't dry up as fast.

I have an Ork army that uses orange as the main color. I did mine fast and easy - Foundation Orange washed with Devlan Mud. Very grimy and dark looking. That would probably be a good base color to build up from though.
Here is a shot of one of my Ork Trukk's so you can see how the color turns out -

I did the test model tonight it's a non robed space marine but damn he looks good.
I ended up not really liking the shade of the orange from vajello so I went down and found a craft paint i liked and added some floaid to it to make it paint on better. Will post the final result tomorrow. Not totally done with it yet. (still doing basing and the bolter.)

I like Flame Angels..
I know there is a chapter called Angels of Fire but their colors are red so this could work as a offshoot chapter of them.
Now im going to have to think of some fluff.
Anyone know a good planet that is volcanic that would work for a homeworld for these guys?
