Hey guys, just finished (except the bases) my pair of GK Terminators that will flank either side of the squad when finished. I went with elementals for the force weapons and the SOB crest is because they will be allied with my final SOB army when completed.

Keep in mind I've only been painting for 3 weeks.

C&C needed!

Also, what do you think is a good name for them both? I havnt written their names yet...

Cheers

The swords look very cool. Nice job on the texturing.

Well done! The only thing that sticks out for me was the decal. Micro-sol and Micro-set are great for making decals much less obvious.

Love it.
Try adding a Blue Ink Wash over the metalics to give it a more mirrored feel.

Quoted from "The Defenestrator":
"Yes, I don't buy into the goody goody image the Tau PR machine has churned out . They're all dirty cold-blooded space-communists if you ask me! Besides, their shiny, selfless "we love everyone for the Greater Good" vibe is so unfitting for the "lulz we're all badass jerks" future of 40k. GW needs to play up their cold, calculating, "join us or die, and probably still die anyway" Borg-y style. That's just me of course."

I would also try throwing a careful brown or black wash on the gold inlay of the armor to make that have a bit more depth.

I agree with both previous comments on washes.

REALLY easy way to add the extra bit of detail to a model.

Blue wash the armour and i would say black was the gold.

apart from that nice work

Hey guys,
thanks for the feedback.

I actually did a fair few washes. I did 2 layers of Asuraman Blue over the mithril/chainmail panelling then finally a heavily watered blue glaze to finish em off. Perhaps its the light in the photo, but theres definately a blue tinge on em. As for the gold i did a mix of devlan mud and gryphonne sepia to give them depth. Admittedly my paint wasn't watered down enough for the flame wielding one so the gold details got ruined a bit. Ah well, live and learn...

Cheers guys

I have to say i prefer the blue sword to the red one. It's much less 'busy' and all the more effective for it. Other than that, i think you're doing excellently so far

What scheme are you going to use for your SoB? They are wonderfully detailed models and as such can be quite difficult to paint. Check my gallery and feel free to pm me if you would like any advice

The effect on the red/orange blade is very eye-catching.

@ J. Black Im going for a white power armor with red robes, with some golds and silvers. Basically trying to keep them as pure as possible, lol. (some are up in my gallery)

I saw your Saint Celestine. Very nicely done, I saw the same color scheme done but one of the spanish pros on CoolMini. Really effective.

I've got her sitting in my draw waiting for when my skill is up and I've decided on the perfect colors. I'm most definately doing the wing conversion though. Gonna chuck some pegasus wings on her and get rid on the cape.

Yeah, the cape is a pain in the arse to pin to the rest of the model. Mostly because it weighs more than Celestine herself. I ended up weighting her base with some metal.

Those new Sanguinary guard wings might be better than the pegasus wings; more scope for pose and variation etc...

Those SoB look sweet, props for painting white too; it's probably the hardest colour to paint

Excellent, but the blue sword is better. It's not so distracting.

I like the red one, fits the description of a NFW in The Killing Ground
