I've just started a Crimson Fists army, looking at being balanced and fluffy whilst not losing to all comers.

At 1500:

Pedro Kantor

5 Scouts + Heavy Bolter
5 Scouts + Meltabomb
5 Marines + Powerfist + TL Heavy Bolter Razorback

6 Sternguard w/combi-melta + powerfist + TL Lascannon Razorback
6 Sternguard w/combi-melta + powerfist + TL Lascannon Razorback

Land Speeder Storm
5 Scout Bikers + 3 Astartes Grenade Launchers + Melta Bombs

Predator w/HB sponsons
Vindicator
Whirlwind w/HKM

Then these added at 2000:
10 Stenguard w/2 combi-meltas + powerfist + Rhino
2 Typhoon Speeders or a Venerable Dread with Assault Cannon

The thinking is that the fists are so depleted there aren't 10 Man Tactical Squads available, they rely on Scouts (the meltabomb scquad ride in the storm). Pedro goes with the 5 Marines.

I've not spammed any vehicile for the same reason, hence why we have 3 different Heavy Support choices.

What do you think?

Surely the fist would have 2 Vindis left? They work so much better in pairs. Your sternguard should have more combi weapons. Not a big fan of Scouts without a landspeeder storm so if you think that your fluff allows a second LSS I would take that.

Never tried the scout bikers and dont have the codex with me here so cant really comment on them, but there must be a reason that they are used so seldomly

Oh, and the LSS should have a Heavy Flamer...always

and since I assume your RBs will be used aggresivly a TLAC is better than the TL LC

Well I took the Vindi to take the heat off of everything else in the first turn... if it miraculously survives then it can do some damage.

The sternguard will be dropped within circa 18" of the enemy or when the RB dies, whatever is sooner - no plans for them to assault though. The combat squad with Kantor will get in closer and do a little assault whilst the HB scouts will be in cover or sat on an objective.

Scout Bikers are superb! I don't know why no one else uses them - turbo boost on their scout move, such up fire and then take out trasports with the grenade launchers.

Why should an LSS always have a flamer?! It'll be keeping out of the way until turn 5 then drop the scouts on an objective and use the HB from range on turns 6 and 7 (if it lasts).

I'd love the TLAC RB, but I only have the bitz for TLLC :(

I assumed you used the Speeder scouts as a alpha strike to take out either a stationary tank or some soft unit.

I like it. Seems like a pretty good all-comers list, but i would have to agree with tedurur, take more combis on your sternguard.
PS: your fluff at the end isn't accurate anymore. The Fists are at 500+ marines now, 128 (IIRC) are veteran marines. The planetstrike rulebook has a great chart that shows all the surving fists of the Rynns world disaster right before the battle for New Rynn City. They've still got vehicles 3 vindicators for example (no whirlwhinds though :( )

You love it you slags!

Nooo... I love the Whirlwind! I might be able to muster another Vindicator at some point. Def have some more Predators.
