I'll be playing in a RTT this weekend using my Seer Council/Saim-Hann style exodites. I'm a little less than 200 points shy of a full 2K and I'm having trouble filling out the list. I've got plenty of S6 shots, but little in the way of anti-mech. Dragons would be ideal, but I don't have a Wave Serpent to get them in place. I do have a BL/EML Wraithlord, however, as well as a full squad of Silver Spears that I've yet to actually play with. I'm not aspiring to be uber-competitive, but I'd like some ideas of what would complement what I've got going so far. Any ideas?

I plan on sticking Maugan Ra with the fully equipped harlies and hoofing them up the table to hit hard targets. I keep my bikes turbo boosting on the back quarter for the save or sniping with the cannons whenever safe, covering them with the seer council until a flank opens. The bare harlies sit on a back field objective next to the pathfinders to give them some CC support vs. deepstrikers and the like. The spiders I'll either deep strike with to hit the rears of transports or run up with the seer council. The lone prism will also snipe from the back field. I'm hoping for late-game objective grabbing for at least 2 missions (the TO prefers objectives over annhilation) out of three and will likely be facing marines, guard, or nids. I'd like to keep what I've got listed and add to it, but I'll consider recommendations for replacing a unit or two. Help!

It would bother me to have 150 points of Harlequins babysitting a couple of Pathfinders. That's a lot of points tied up in doing nothing but objective sitting? Perhaps a Death Jester instead of the Troupe Master to have that unit do someting while waiting?
BTW cool looking exodites!

I thought about using stormies on foot, but with a 'lock they end up being about the same points as 'quins and much less killy. I'm worried about termies deepstriking or infiltrating stealers that would eat stormies alive, you know?

Oh yeah, I agree, and I did not suggest you should take Storm Guardians at all :-)

What would you suggest in place of the pathfinders/harlies then? I agree that almost 300pts on an objective is a waste, but I need something that can claim an objective back-field. Pathfinders are ideal since they get great cover saves and range, but crumble when hit with templates or cc. Having a small cc unit on hand to respond to such an attack helps minimize that danger.
A unit of 5 DA's in a WS would be my first choice, but I just don't have any transports converted yet. :(
Also, I'm still shy almost 200 points. Any recommendations to fill the gaps?

I'm sorry, it's easier to critique than to come up with a solution. :-/
Perhaps instead of going with pathfinders, come with 2 scoring guardian squads with scatterlasers. Those might contribute to your offense and that's 2 units the opponent has to take out, or 2 small GJB units held in reserve.
GJB's would free up your 2nd Harlequin squad, you might want to bump their number. I prefer a larger squad as you need to wipe out as much of the opponenet as you can because they are so fragile.

Do you have a spare falcon. 5 Dire Avengers could fit there as well, or even just the falcon to transport the pathfinders.
Spirit stones on the Prism as needed as well.
Spare points can be had by combining the harlie squads as meantioned by others.

If you think you are too small to have an impact, try sleeping with a mosquito. |

2nd fire prism. 2 S9 AP2 blasts... 1 AP3 large blast that is TL or 1 S10 AP1 shot. Gives you ranged anti-mec and great AT shot for the random landraider or monolith you encounter.
Falcon and 5 or 6 firedragons and lose the harlequin/pathfinders. Maybe fit in a small 5 man ranger unit or pathfinder. The rest of your army is designed to get up close and "kiss" your opponent so if they deepstrike and knock out a 95 or 120 pt squad. Well too bad but not a 300pt bomb for holding 1 objective.

Sorry, no serpents or falcons - I'm working on making the conversions, but they're just not available yet. :( Trust me, I've been lamenting their absence since I started playing again. Putting dragons in a serpent would be my first choice, with DA's in a serpent after that.
My initial list was a 10 man squad of harlies led by Maugan, with no pathfinders, but I was sure that two scoring units weren't going to cut it at 2000.
Since I've only got one fire prism at the moment and converting another would take time that I don't have, I thought about kitting it up with stones and a holofield. I've also got a squadron of war walkers that I could field - scatterlasers and brightlances?

Keep them cheap and killy: 2x scatterlasers. Moist often you want to shoot at tanks with Bright Lances, and you don't want 6 BL shots at one target.

I was thinking one of each per walker. I've seen this loadout in play before and it worked well although I'd rather have the lances on wraithlords...

Fire Prism with star engines, you're kidding.
The Farseer needs both runes, especially when you face Nids.

Not especially. I play with a Saim-Hann style list, and have read good things at Way of Saim Hann about this loadout for the prism. Albiet, Fritz banks on being able to tank shock in the shooting phase - something that's a bit of a flame war here on dakka and a tactic I'd not use, but when attempting a last turn objective grab, having a tank contest in the shooting phase can be the difference between winning and losing. Check him out.
I appreciate the feedback concerning the runes, I'll update the list with that.
