Okay, so while my latest Bolt pistol's paint is drying I desided to start on a side project, one I can work on while I'm waiting for things to dry,be glued or whatever.

It's an Idea I have had for a while, make a bolter and a STORM BOLTER that fires nerf rounds. I have seen plenty of people just paint Imperial Eagles on nerf guns and that's it, well I'm taking it one step farther.
I want to make it LOOK like a bolter and Shoot as well. Step one, mod the clip, this is one of the most important things to me, I want a durable clip that works well and looks good.
This will become very important when it comes to making the storm bolter.

Anyway, the 1st test went well, which was modding the clip, it only holds 5 darts, but it works well and stays in the gun with out problem.




It's not just a plastic card cover of the clip ( although that would work too..)

This thread will probly be a bit between updates, just to warn you..

So when are you going to need more than 5 darts? Hunting nerf heritics and xenos?

The real question is when are you actually going to use this.
I would suggest taking off the back stick part hanging out, just make sure it doesnt have anything to do with how the gun works. It might be used to surpress pressure in it or something.
oh, and dont try scissors to take it off. it wont work
Also, when making the sturm bolter, all your really need to do is make a large encasing around the clip. Unless you want it to hold more rounds, that is.

This is awesome!!! Now, we just need a nerf Heavy Bolter!!! You could use a nerf Vulcan for that. Could you please make a post about how you made your flamer? I love it

Once I finish the flamer I will post a build for it, still looking for something good to make the tank out of.

As far as making the storm bolter, I plan on using 2 guns with one grip/trigger so it will have two clips, two barrels and fire two rounds with each trigger pull.
I may possibly make a box mag for it as well, we'll see how it turns put.

I hope to use it at conventions, if it will still shoot the suction cup darts when I'm done then it's great to shoot stormtroopers with
Right now it shoots both suction cup (marker) darts and the hard tipped ones. However the suction cup ones tend to jam a lot more often so they might cause problems once the build is done...

I have a Recon myself and although I am yet to open mine up to check it's inner workings I know the back 'stick' covers the internal slide. If this is also for holding and maintaining pressure to shoot with I don't yet know.

Bolters and Bolt pistols have a 'notch' at the back above the handle anyway and that could be used to hide the stick, at least partially.

I would like to know how you altered the magazine as I'm planning on modding my own recon into a bolt pistol.

Out of curiosity are you keeping the internal mechanism. I believe to cock it each time you fire, but the bolt pistol is semi automatic. I would like to see you make a semi auto out of a slide action, and if you don't do it I will draw up the plans myself.

Yes, you have to cock it everytime you wills to fire...
Not sure how to go about making it semi-auto...

I would take a leaf out of the Airsoft book. The two key methods there are gas blowback using stored gas and an electrical mechanism. The blowback method is obviously the more realistic and provides a satisfying feel to firing, but the electrically driven method is much much cheaper to run

Ok, I've torn mine apart into every single piece that would come apart and then spent 2+ hours putting it back together again.

It still works and no pieces left over. Although I stripped the heads of a few screws and I need to find somewhere that'll sell ones that small.
I now know how it works.

I'm thinking of removing the top slide on mine and replacing it with a single 'bolt' coming out of the slide to cock each shot.

I'll have more of an idea what to do with time.
