Can it be done? And if so, can it be anywhere near competitive?

I've always loved the Typhus model and Forgeworld Nurgle termies, and recently I was on the receiving end of Abbadon's beatdown stick (took out 10 skyclaws in the first round of CC). So I'm tempted to build an 1850 pt list just as an excuse to paint up those models.

Can this work?

That's bare ones and brings it to 1130 pts
plus random upgrades thrown in depending on advice received here.
I don't have the Chaos Codex, but have been playing for 4 years so I fairly familiar with rules.

I don't see why the concept couldn't work. Abaddon is generally reserved for list of 2000 points or over, so putting him and Typhus into a single list might raise some eyebrows.

Abaddon with Termies in a Land Raider doesn't give you a lot of wounds. Oince the Termies die, he's going to be in a world of hurt. You could would give him 9 KB's or 9 CSM instead, giving him 9 disposable wounds. However, if you're stuck on the idea of Termies with him, give them MoT and bump the number up to 5.

Typhus and Forgeworld Nurgle Termies is cool by me.

Well some things to add would be...

Melta guns on your troops, you lack anti-tank.

As mizzri suggested, im a fan of khorne bezerkers with abby in a landraider, but add a terminator to both squads for more wounds and to fill the landraider.

More troops perhaps a 7 man PM squad to sit on objectives, or another 10 man csm squad, but more troops are needed.

Personally i would love to see 2 defilers added to this list, however that leaves you at a very low model count.

I personally would discourage the idea of icons for the terminators, point being there is only 3 in each squad, not worth the points.

Plague squad should probably have a Champion with Powerfist just in case.


This list certainly is interesting, tho im not sure i like the idea of over half of your list going into just HQ's, kinda puts all your eggs in one basket.

idk about two land raiders and typhus and abbadon in the same list cuz thats... 940 pts for 4 models. which is 50% of ur army. i dont know how you got 1130 out of that list. LR 220 abbadon 275 typhus 225. plauge marines are 23 each = 230 and the csm are 15 each which makes 150. +2 rinos 35 each. 6 termies = 180
all together thats 1570 w/o upgrades

I like this list because it gives me a taste of everything Chaotic. I don't play Chaos now, but this could be cool & give me a chance to paint the various styles.

It looks like you're not going to be able to afford any respectable Heavy choices by making your army so top heavy.

No offense... but this is a VERY goofy army.

armies that need to advance to kill the foe, whether they be orkz, rhino armies, or even guard chimera/melta spam, usually need fire support to keep enemy vehicles shaken at a minimum so their stuff can approach relatively unmolested. But this army? all a guy needs to do to beat you is not even pop the land raiders, but simply slow you down with bastion defense tactics. really, even if you hit enemy lines, and you assault something, what about the following shooting phase?(since you WILL kill what you hit).

The second list is just slightly better, but again, a dude can keep you away from the meat of his army but throwing units in your way all game. I would recommend taking meltas on your troop choices whenever possible, since you're going to want to operate at such close ranges.

Seriously, though, if you like Abbadon... why not just run.. ababdon? As in, by himself? Why him AND typhus? It sounds like you want to have your cake and eat it too. Really, it's overkill.
