First time converting something but C and C are welcome. I plan on adding detail to the inside as well. I'm stuck on what I want to do with the assault ramp.

Yeah I am going to head to home depot to grab some larger pvc pipe to work with tomorrow.

redid the sides. I was on the fence about the boxyness. Just added the frag launchers as some extra detail really.

The oven mit was used to bake food for the hungry tech adept who was pondering over these stc templates!

How does this look compared to version 1?

Added the dread and marine for scale reference. Might cut the front at an angle instead of the nose sticking out because figuring out the ramp from that angle is giving me a headache. Not as boxy as the first go. Look better?

Update! The outside is done just about to go prime this bad boy. Here are some pics. For all those who think it's too big its supposed to be smaller than a thunderhawk but I think its not as small as the current renditions. Either way if I strap a battlecannon on the back it can double for a thunderhawk for apocalypse in a pinch!

Another update. Almost fully painted. I got as much done as I could because I needed to submit it for a stormraven conversion contest at my battle bunker this past Saturday. I ended up winning which was awesome!

I was a bit doubtful when I saw the WIP pics, but the paint job convinced me. It looks great! The use of Sentinel legs as claws to grab a Dreadnaught is probably my favorite part, even if it does look a bit weird.

Glad to hear you won the contest.

.Looks decent, once it's all painted up Good work.

EDIT: Also, because it's too good of a pun to pass up:

Awesome conversion, though you should call it the Storm Raisin. Get it? Storm Raisin? HAH!

I have to say.. I like it. You must have one impressive bits box though, I count parts from 4 or 5 kits there (LR, Valk, Monilith, Sentinil, Land Speeder?). One slightly discordant note that my eye keeps going back to is the angles on the Valk wings. My favorite part is the usage of pipe fittings for engines (consider that idea nicked). Great idea and execution, enjoy your opponents look of dread as you deploy behind his lines

Not for long. The polar bears are riding the melting glaciers south in search of penguin-steaks.

Really good, slightly oversized for a stormraven but looks really good, how did you do the turret on the top?

Thanks for all the comments! The kits I used (from what I can remember) LR, Valk, Monolith, Dreadnaught, electric pole thingies from battle for maccrag set, Baal preditor, Sentinel legs, cities of death terrain, baneblade and for the interior(which I will post picks of when I get home) I used sanguinary guard, tactical squad, valk, cities of death and drop pod parts!

cosmic pixie wrote:Really good, slightly oversized for a stormraven but looks really good, how did you do the turret on the top?

The spires holding up the turret is the top piece of the monolith that holds the giant crystal thingy. In the middle is a piece of extra sprue plastic with a magnet on top and some guitar wire around it to look like wires. The turret is actually just a dreadnaught heavy weapon arm with each individual weapon magnetized so when I swap them out they all are magnetized. If anyone has any more questions I will be more than happy to answer them!

Here is the interior I said i would post.

Ummm...somewhere...

I actually prefer the larger design to what other people have done, after all it is meant to be able to carry a dreadnought, really lieking it so far

The paint job looks really good - it ties the whole thing together nicely. This is probably the best SR I've seen with regards to Dread stowage, so kudos for that.

My only criticism (and it's a small one) is the one voiced by Andrewdrexler - the wings look a little odd, angle-wise.

Great work overall, though. Gratz on your win!
