I decided that my dark Eldar could do with a rest for a bit so I returned to my old Inquisition army. To be frank I had grown a little bored of it, it was initially designed to beat my friends Ultramarines, and that's what it did consistently in a rather boring way. So I decided it was high time to go Radical. Lots of stormtroopers, deamon hosts, and weirdness.
I wanted these guys to be filthy and corrupt. However I didn't want them to be all out chaos, just begining to fall foul of insanity and start down the renegade path.

The Fluff being that a Radical Malleus inquisitor has warped the local Magistratum from the top down with the help of the local Hereticus Inquisitor Lord, who turned a blind eye. The local Arbites and Holy fanatics were brought under the sway of Chaos by the Inquisitors who have used their powers to form Daemon hosts and smuggle in some non-STC vehicles.
Simples

So I set about Planning the initial Army. I decided to reuse a few of my old vehicles and models from the armys past forms, Fix my daemonhosts, make a full new squad of arbites, fanatical priesty arbites, new inquisitors, a new priest and a BIG STOMPY EXORCIST ROBOT OF DEATH. That's right I did need caps lock.

Anyhoo Heres the WIP photos, I tried to get everything I needed up to a table tops standard as fast as possible, so from here on out it will be time to adopt, adapt and improve what I have as well as finish off a few bits and add a few more.

Yes the Priest's Pimp hand does have bells on... Im Really dissappointed at how the Pics came out, I was Rushing to get them up before work, and Just realised how out of focus they All are, I'll get better ones as I finish the models off.

Now that's some really awesome stuff. I like the mix you have done between 40k and fantasy models.

once again i must say that you do exceptional work! Keep up the great work and continue to make beautiful models (for both armies). one thing i did notice htough was the use of the same colors on your dark eldar. It looks great still, but i was just wondering why (not that it matters since you likely wont be playing yourself anytime soon) it does make for a nice color scheme i must say

Some interesting ideas there. I'm not a big fan of the Malleus Inqusitor though. He looks not impressive enough, I'd ay another sword would be a good start.

Swan Co - Its actually the other way round, I had started these guys ages ago and was just using up my excess green on the DE
lillizzyloser2008 - No problemo, when I get the time there should be some fresh madness, using up the defiler bits will be key!
Anung Un Rama - Yea he didn't go quite to plan lack of appropriate parts I suppose, not a huge fan of the catachan knife myself, he may be replaced eventually.
Llamahead - There are more squats to come never fear, I used upturned defiler legs, an old 2nd ed whirlwind chopped in half for the body and separated the missiles, and the drivers cab is from a IG sentinel, and its the defilers missile launcher on top,and used the empire flagellant burning head, just about everything else is plasticard, miliput or gs!
Clthomps - I will get an update on the dark eldar soon! Ive heard the rumours about an Inquisition Codex too but wasn't putting much "faith" in them ohhh the punnage.

Thanks again for the comments guys, Ive been working 7 days a week all this month so it might be a bit before the next update, sit tight and plot the holy thrones demise in the meantime!

Like Eisenhorn popping up randomly on Ravenor, my Radicals are back. I know it has been weeks but life, work, uni applications, living as a viking, and copious amounts of partying had got in the way. Its not really much of an update but hey its something!

First off the WIP Storm Troopers from the last time, converted from old space wolf scouts I had stashed away by mistake, nice long hoods carnival of chaos style, still got the detailing to do sos till PIP.


Truescale Inquisitor Lord, to replace the wonky old Magus type one. Its a solidly mad kit bash but I think it works, I even tried a little NMM on the armour and staff not 100% about ti but I like him. Any tips and hints are always welcome.




Due to the past few weeks partying etc I ran into somewhat of a cash flow problem, but found an unopened box of ghouls, I then saw Migs amazing new Alpha legion twists and I couldn't contain myself. Out came the bitz box and lasguns were found... So far they are still all very wip, 2 snipers and one trooper. I also managed to knock up two auto cannon heavy weapon teams from old Catachans, odd bits some old Epic Land Raiders and the spare autocannons from the defiler kit I robbed to make the excorsist walker. I intend to get a box of Catachans and kit bash the crap out of them and the ghouls for some inducted Imperial Guard.






Phew lots of talking for very few models, Lots of Wip and lots more to come, eventually. Keep up with the criticisms or hints for how to mash the Catachans and ghouls for the inducted guard, I'm thinking retro cultists! Until next time!

The truescale Malleus Inquisitor is VERY impressive, but I'm still having a little trouble buying the fluff. Who exactly do they claim to fight for at this point?

Frodos Radicals? Is Sams the neighbouring system?

All right guys in a fit of 5 am insomnia, I decided it was time for a quick update of the WIP's before I manage to paint them. Ive decided to take a slightly different direction with the force and may go full imperial guard with inducted inquisitors, but that's all a bit cerebral at the moment. Without further ado I present what I have got done of my WIP infantry platoon.
First up my Platoon Commander.


Next the Platoon Commissar.


Finally the horrid mutated twist cultists, the more human ones will follow soon.


Essentially the fluff is based upon some of the concepts that arise in Dan Abnetts books.
The Inquisitors have been swayed by the powers of Chaos to believe they are using the warp and its beings for the forces of good, while it has corroded their minds turning them into slaves to darkness. They used their political sway to cooerce the local magistratum and tech adepts to work with them on their nefarious schemes. They have indulged in everything from the use of non-STC technology, to rounding up the local twists and cultists to fight for them as fanatical cannon fodder against the Astrates and the Imperium. They are as of yet undetected and are building their strength until then.

Oh and metallifan yes Sams are in a neighboring system, well Canada... Frodo is a name I've been lumped with for years now but I do respond to it when it gets shouted at me in the street!

Ok so after a very boring and quiet night shift, I managed to get quite a bit of hobby done on Sunday. Also I discovered some fun things in the immense collection of bits, failed armies and general junk under my bed which became my new Veterans squad.
I've decided to amalgamate some of my squads and units and make an Imperial Guard army with daemon hunter allies as opposed to the other way round. Mostly because its a much more flexible list conversion wise and allows me to make some more characterful units and vehicles.
As I haven't slept in nearly 24 hours now I will keep this brief so pictures ahoy!

Surely if their Chaos Squats they need big hats or is this a sign they've moved too far down that path! To my mind their shouldn't be Commissars per se in Rebel Guard army list instead their should be gribbly disgusting priests although I have to say he is a wonderfully gung ho and well greenstuffed model!

My reasons for having a Comissar, and the lack of big hattedness on the Squats (although I do have a big hat Chaos Dwarf WFB army), is that these guys are not strictly Chaos, more just warp tainted here and there.
Therefore this has created a high number of abhumans twists and the like on the planet, they are naturally drawn to the radical leanings of the Inquisitors and they are welcomed with open arms. Now with a platoon full of mutants, cultists and crazed abhumans, who better to instill a little discipline and herd them toward the oncoming enemy, than an angry man in a peaked cap with two guns?
I actually wast going for a gung ho pose as such more just a "Forward you Dogs!" vibe.

Very John Blanche style, both in color and form. Great job, your work has a flavor that used to permeate the hobby but has sadly taken 2nd seat to more uniform though equally pleasing styles.

Well just a quick update before I have my night shift tomorrow and get time to paint again! Been slowly working on the last 6 infantry for the platoon, two sergeants and 4 infantry, and some even slower progress with the PCS, still need to add the three flamers. Progress shall be made, just must update this to encourage meself!.
