Hi guys. So I was wondering how I could do a Tyranid Prime. Initially I was gonna add bits to a normal warrior. Then I thought about using my older version of a Hive Tyrant, as I really like the model and is to small to be a 5th ed Tyrant. So here it is, I will use a Warrior head so that it looks less like the old Tyrant and more like a warrior. Probably use one of the new plastic Ravener heads in the final build tho. Also I will be using the medium sized talons for the Mawloc.

Any comments (good and bad) would be welcome, thanks

He/she has blu-tack holding him/her together so I can see what it would look like.

The whip arm is the worng way round, I will probably use a genestealer arm instead

Not sure if the Prime is to big, but will be a little smaller because of the blu-tack

I do think the Prime should be more significant than a normal Warrior. Almost as if hes inbetween a Warrior and a Tyrant

I think the idea's fine, both size-wise and looks-wise. Personally I'd trim/remove the spore tube thingies on its back - and maybe the tail too (cool though it is) to make it look a bit more like a warrior and less like a dwarf tyrant

Looks good, the only bits I would change are the lower arms as they are to bulky compared to the uppers. Look forward to seeing it painted.

Cheers mate. I wasn't to sure about the tail. Kinda like the things on the back tho, but they are a bit big.

Thanks for the advice

Good point. Have to find some warrior talons from somewhere, or try the smallest mawloc ones

Ok so Ive taken the tail off and now trying to decide between the smallest mawloc talons and the big ravener talons. Dont have any warrior ones at hand

I think the Talon 2's look the best. Overall great idea though!

Ravener's largest talons on the top w/ the sword on the bottom is my vote. But looks great, dude. Also, it probably looks really sweet when compared to other Warriors.

I really like this model, i Particularly like the size ratio. I would say is there anyway to slightly bulk out where the leg joins the pelvis, i think it looks slightly too small?

This is my first attempt at green stuffing, pretty happy with it.

[Thumb - CIMG1115.JPG]
The neck sticks out a little more then I would like.

[Thumb - CIMG1118.JPG]
I cut the arm off the venom cannon arm. Then attached the whip to the it. It refussed to glue tho, and when it finally did I put it on the other way round which doesnt look as good but not bad enough to change.

Final build, Front 1, still got some green stuff to do to fill gaps

Fin

Im pretty happy with it, the main issue I have is that the whip probably will not stay on. Ive pined it, but it fell off during painting and its still wobbly. As it sticks up in the air it will eventually get knock off. But anyway overall it came out better then i thought it would. Not bad for a first attempt at converting if I do say so myself

So tell me what you think guys

I really like this conversion, especially the bonesword. The only thing I would like to suggest is to have the tongue on said brilliant beasty the same blue shades as the lash whip. That way I feel it would add a wonderful semblance to the model as the bright red tongue puts me off slightly. That said, wonderful conversion!
