New to 40k and to broke to afford FW weapons so i am giving a shot at converting my own. Recently cut down a dreadnought lascannon to be interchangeable with both lascannon and plasma cannon. I took an IG sentinel plasma cannon and cut down the back half to fit the back half of a dreadnought lascannon. I drilled out the Lascannon arm and both barrels of the lascannon and plasma cannon and magnetized them so i can change them out depending upon what load out I want to go with. Thought I'd post them up to see thoughts on them and maybe give ideas to those who are broke (cheap) like me. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated as I'm still a rookie at this. Also considering making autocannon, twin linked heavy flamer, and twin linked heavy bolter for this, though I'm not sure if i would use those in an actual game, or if they'd be worth it.

Not to diminish your mod (it looks nice) but the new venerable dreadnought does almost this same thing but also includes the assault cannon. So if you want interchangeable weapons on any more dreads you should look into that kit.

Also, no offence, but the plasma cannon looks too long on the mount.

Yeah I've seen the Ven Dread arms and like them but had these parts and can't afford the new arms right now. Was a little worried about length of the plasma but I'm not sure that its any longer than a FW plasma, think it might be that its not as thick as the FW plasma that's making it look longer. might have to look to cutting it down just a little more though.

looks fine to me and I would do something similar for mine if I played imperial.
Unfortunately chaos' crazed rule makes it hard to use anything but missile launcher and dreadnought CC arms

I think it looks fine, and I think yours is better not only because it cost you less, but because you made it your self.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad to see it worked out. Have to admit was a little nervous really cutting into a model for the first time.

That's okay! if im not wrong, the plasma cannon came from IG sentinels?? excelent if you want to make it in a more, retro-brutish look!! (not to mention that its a good way to take profit of spare parts)... time ago i did the same but with assault cannon arm just cutting the gun and changing it for the barrels of two IG autocannons.... the result was fitting

Was considering trying to do an autocannon mod for this one to, but I'm debating whether it will work with the lascannon arm or not. May just bite the bullet and cut up some cannons anyway.
