Ok a few days ago i was talking to Kanluwen (something like that) about my 'whitewashed' (or not-whitewashed but dry-brushed) effect on troops. I was unable to get pics up but here they are with a few examples. the Kasrkin has a mix of whitewash and jagged pattern (and some straight lines i yet have to remove)

Agreed. Normally, white washes if the person hasn't done it for larger armored models before look terrible.

It's nice seeing a decent job

One comment is that you wouldn't see camouflage over top of the whitewash. It'd be the "standard" fatigues and camo, but with the white overlaying it. If I get around to it, I actually have a white wash tutorial in May's "Fine Scale Modeler"(Volume 28 Issue 5).

His "base color", if I remember right, is a standard Cadian uniform, just with heavily watered down paint drybrushed over it.

hooray! lots of good comments . atm i am doing my DA stuff but i will do some more guys too. i still have some primed Kasrkin and old metal command squad guys so i could do them in the next month.
and yes. i used normal dark angels green, with catachan green on top, which is standard cadian uniform, and just drybrushed ontop. Kanluwen,i didnt water down the white, i just drybrushed over in one or two motions.
