We had a Blood Angels painting contest the last few weeks and I kind of "cheated" and decided to do a Night Lord instead.

Luckily I got parts that had relatively little Imperial symbols on them. I ended up taking "Best Concept" and basically made back my investment.

Is that a jetpack AND wings? Very nightlords. Nice model

In the embrace of the great Nurgle, I am no longer afraid, for with His pestilential favour I have become that which I once most feared: Death.

I like the concept; the proof that raptors can be a lot cooler then the stock models suggest!

Are those the new gargoyle wings?

It's a nice look, and I'm a bit surprised how well the turbine balances out like that.

Those wings look excellent. They aren't (or at least don't seem) too oversized like the Possessed wings.

This gives me an idea...

These wings are actually QUITE A BIT larger than the possessed wings.

@ OP:
Where did the wings come from?

...urrrr... I dunno

Wow, now that is cool. I have to say, the jump pack goes well with the wings, which is a bit of a surprise. Still, I guess it just goes to show what a good modeller/converter can do. Nice work!

This gives me an idea...

There was a calculation out there for working out the size wings you would need to fly, for a 100kg 6foot tall man it was around 20 square foot per wing if i recal correctly.

What may seem oversized is in reality undersized if anything.

Corpse - hence the reason most winged creatures have hollow bones and large chests

Loving the idea, and allways nice to go against the flow.
Only real crit i have is to thin out the lightning a bit, looks a tad on the large side.

Convertion wise - amazing, never thought of this before and it all works great.
I can see a few more NL players taking this idea

Oh... well then I retract my previous statement . For some reason they seemed a bit smaller. Oh well!

I had an idea similar to convert them for Vanguard veterans for my own army, since my marines are gold anyways, but didn't have any idea what to do with wings. Really like the gargoyle wings idea

Nice twist on the Sanguinary Guard. Especially appropriate as Blood Angels and Nights Lord both derive their imagery from Vamps to some extent.

A bit of a threadromancy but have you converted any more of these? I may be doing this as my next project.
