Need a good list with Hellebron. These are the models I have. Any thoughts?

Oooh kay, so i played around with an army list for you to try if you want to use Crone Hellbron as your lord. This list I kinda went for a khainite theme while keeping some of the staple dark elf units

Crone Hellebron -350

Death hag - Cauldron - 200

Sorcess, lvl 1, 2 dispell scroll- 150

Assassin - ahw, rune of khaine, black lotus, touch of death- 151

Witch Elves - 15, full command, Hag with manbane, banner of murder- 225

You dont have any harpies or much in terms of dark riders so i put in 2 units of shades. Hellebron needs to be deployed with the black guard unit because of the ASF banner, without it shes kinda toast. The executioner unit gets the assassin for protection in case they get charged. Might fiddle with the list later and toss in a unit of cold one knights though.

Well a Hellebron list is certainly different to build for. Are you looking for a themed army with cult of khaine as a focus, or were you looking for a normal list that happens to have crone?

Would you want to put her on manticore, or on foot?

I like your list Grimaldes, I might use it. notabot187-I didn't want her to ride a Manticore. I haven't had any luck with a Manticore. They normally just get shot to death before I can do anything really. I wanted to have multiple units of Witch Elves and hid her in one of them till I got into combat. Possible 9 attacks coming at a strength 10 with her sword, sounds like fun to me.

Any thoughts on a list with my models. I really want to use Hellebron for fun. Anyway to have a Level 4 Wizard and Hellebron on the field?

I have to agree a Hellebron list is a nice change of pace.

A few things about Grimaldus's list before you go to use it.

Cauldron - may want to consider making it your BSB since you don't have one (so many uses, lets you reroll those frenzy tests)

Sorceress - currently is illegal you can't have 2 dispell scrolls anymore. I would make her more offensive minded myself and lvl 2 but thats just me. (i would try to squeeze another lvl 2 in or perhaps a lvl 3 if possible).

Assassin - not my favorite build but it can be effective just hope you kill whatever he's targeting.

Witch Elves - 15 is way to small even with a 5+ ward. You really need more of them if your running Hellebron (why else would you run her?)

Xbows - good, small units can still put out enough fire.

Blackguard - drop them for more witches and executioners

Shades - drop the GW, give them AHW if anything - you want them to strike before any warmachiene crew.

Executioners - more of them, the witch elves will be competing for the CoB's attention, also unless you run the with ASF BSB a unit of 14 wont haven enough hitting power for their return attacks.

Hydra - nothing wrong there.

Ah... why spearmen?

Hellebron makes witches core. So... dump those spearmen for a second unit of witches!

I used the list that I posted and won. My friend had an almost all mounted army. Just one General on a Wyern and a Giant plus units of Boar, Spider and Wolf riders uniits.

I still think you need at least 2 units of witches to make Hellebron worth it.

Make one witch unit a 30+ strong horde while you're at it. Dark elves are great with their multi-attack frenzy hordes, and it fits with the Crone Hellebron theme.

Also, nice idea to include Crone, she is pretty awesome, and not seen very often.

As near as I can figure this list isn't quite legal. Too many points spent on lords. Banner on warriors is too expensive (25 pt limit)

So there is no way to include Hellebron and a level 4 Wizard in a 2250 game? :( Why is a banner to expensive on the Wizard? I should have run other unit of Witch Elves instead?

At 2250, you have 562 points for Lords.

Hellebron + lvl 3 is 575 so no its not possible.

However 2 lvl 2's is an option if you want magic.
