Right, so a few days ago I was over my friend's house and noticed that he was into 40k as well. Unfortunately I didn't have my (very small) army or anything with me, but he said that he had some stuff he didn't want or need. He plays Tau, and so he gave me an old Space Marine Scout. I don't recognize the model itself, I can't find it anywhere. Regardless, I took him home and prettied him up, and I will share with you the end result.
This is my first time trying to paint a face that wasn't covered by a rebreather or anything. I think I did alright, though I don't like the eyes very much; they seem very cartoony. Any tips on how to make them look more realistic?
My objective for this guy was to make him look like he was in the middle of a war. First time I tried doing any of that "chipped paint" look, and I'm curious as to what you guys think of it. I also figured that he'd be crouched on one knee a lot, so I muddied his right knee.
Everything on the model is metal, except for the two knives on his back. Those I took from an old Kroot sprue my buddy had lying around.
Finally, please ignore the poor free-handing. I seem to have suffered temporary Parkinson's disease yesterday.
Constructive criticism welcome!
