A nearly finished shot of my newest Necron Destroyer Lord. He doesn't look much like a Destroyer Lord at the moment, sure. That's because I prefer painting the flight packs for my Destroyers separately. I posted this shot anyway because it amuses me. I should have this guy and my third and final unit of five Destroyers all done and painted, if not tonight then tomorrow, depending on how much I procrastinate and slack off.

I would like to learn the Kung Fu of procrastinating and slacking off simultaneously.

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

And the Lord's done. Won't get his buddies done till tomorrow, but then they're not really anything different from the ones I've done before, so I won't bother posting new pictures of them.

I'm sorry to say, while the first set of photos looked very promising, the overall result isn't as good. The jetpack just looks too big and unnecessary.

I actually like it better with the jetpack. My only concern is that now it looks like he is gliding along sideways, which is kinda weird. It would probably look better if his torso and jetpack were rotated a bit to face the direction that his robes are flowing.

Actually, given how I rationalize the jetpack working, it's pointing the right direction.

Ah. Still, it looks like he would not be flying in the way that the robes are flowing. Maybe it's the camera angle.

Yeah, it is off still, maybe 15 degrees or so... But then if you look at my other Destroyers, he's not actually in flight mode so it could just be cross wind, though that instead leaves the question of how his legs are positioned under that skirt.

And on the note of other Destroyers, I decided I'm too narcissistic to not post the pictures of this final batch of five, which puts me only three Heavy Destroyers short of a max compliment of Destroyer Platforms. If I place in `Ard Boyz this weekend, I'll have to be sure to get them done in time for Semis.

I hear that a lot. It's actually their nickname locally.

If you rotated his torso on his legs 90 degrees, it could look like he is floating forwards, or backwards. Either would look really cool imo. If the direction that his cloak was flowing and the direction he was looking matched up, things might look more natural.

Overall very good stuff though, I love the destroyer backs.

If I changed the direction he looked or faced, then I lose part of my joke with his pose.

The other branch of my FLGS happened to have in the old version of Asphyxious, so I figured I'd get him to do up a second Lord to match this other one. Now my army is led by Necron Lord Asphyxious Classic and Necron Lord Asphyxious Variant. Going to have to do a Necron Lich Lord Asphyxious next.

Oh, and some of my Warriors that had lost various arms and heads over the years that I touched up and repaired.

With the exception of the sort of awkward back piece, it looks really good. Nice job.
