This is a quick query of the top 50 users based on number of times topics they have started have been read. There is some odd data in here (eg; ZandrisIV started the infamous humour thread that got 460K views alone). Either way, it is interesting if useless

Would it be a bad idea to make a challenge to get someone to the top of such a list? Without making useless threads that is. I'd imagine we'd probibly need you to over see such a challenge...

It would probably take YEARS just to scratch the top of that board, OR so much posting that the literal flood of views eventually eclipses the top 50 list period.

But looking at that list most of those posters have posted THOUSANDS of times as well.

And impressive resumes for topics to boot.

Makes my 45313 look pretty poor.
I'd like to see an average over the number of topics started.
1462 over 31 topics in my case.

Kid Kyoto's average is 1374 over 761 topics.
Migsula's is 12748 over just 43 topics.

Does it include DCM boards? Yes, every non deleted post

How does Dakka count the views? Every view a thread has had is counted and added together for every thread the user has started

Would it be a bad idea to make a challenge to get someone to the top of such a list? Without making useless threads that is. - It would be a very, very bad idea. It would encourage pointless threads and people hitting refresh all the time. There is no point to it and this is just a one off bit of database mining by me so there can be no gaming of it in the future.

To clarify, the second list is number of views you have had in total for threads you have started, divided by the total number of threads you have started (basically giving a list of users whose posts get the most attention on average, as opposed to the first list which was users who get the most attention total)
