When I spoke to Tony of Friday (as CEO of this giant enterprise he was driving packages to the post office) he told me that the boxes were being printed and the sprues were coming by cargo vessel from our secret jungle island where savage tribesmen run the machines in an underground lair. Or by canoes, one or the other.

We'd estimated 'end of May', hadn't we? Let's see how far off that is. Believe me, we want to have these things ready to send out ASAP. You've no idea how many have been ordered!

So they might not ship in May but they're successful and they are coming as soon as a small operation can deliver them.

Man, I'd start making a Krieger army in a heartbeat if it wasn't for those stupid guns. Aside from that those models are great.

I wonder how much it'll cost me to get a bunch of cadian lasguns to do the conversions.

Last I saw they were taking ideas and once they got rolling would post some renders posthaste.

But, as they point out frequently, this is not GW here, it's something like 5 people doing everything from designing models to packing boxes to driving orders to the post office. If in fact these guys are big they may be working flat out for a while just filling orders.

Well, another unplanned delay and how WGF deals with it.
Summary: First shipping arrives end of June, second shipping earlier: around 17th June.

Slow Boat from China...Emergency Air Lift!
01-Jun-2010 The Shock Troops - and Saxons - were meant to release last week but we've had a mix-up with our shipping company.
Instead of going on the "fast boat" to the US West Coast and then trained/trucked to Boston, the sprues have ended up on the "slow boat" through the Panama Canal and through the Gulf of Mexico.

The dock date is toward the end of June - and we know that there is NO WAY some of you can wait that long to get your mitts on the Shock Troops - so we are having more sprues run off and are doing an Emergency Air Lift to Boston!

The sprues will be here by the end of next week and we'll be able to start packaging the week of 14th for a release date of June 17th.
The Saxons will be arriving here in the last week of June and we'll aim for an early July release for them.

We're also just about to send 3 more sets off to tooling. We're not ready to say what they are yet...but expect more announcements and images in June with an expected late July/early August release.

Sorry again for the delay - we'll make sure we do everything we can to get them out as fast as humanly possible!

Impressive response. Small company, and I'm sure they're getting killed with the emergency shipping. Not to mention they're paying the upfront cost for more sprues.

yes, however many had hoped that the figures would be more "near future" than "grim dark future" sci-fi.

Changing the guns and equipment would have done it. As the figures are, I think they are a miss from me, until I need them to fill some gap.

Glad to see they responded to the mistake well. I'm still waiting on a box to split with some folks from my FLGS, but in the meantime I ordered up some Zulus for a project, and was surprised with a sampler of Vikings as well. I'd been thinking about throwing them onto the order, so I'm pretty freaking happy with WGF at the moment. If people want it, I could throw together a review of the vikings (Zulus are getting set aside until I can figure out exactly how to do what I want to do).

Err, I can't seem to find pics on the West Wind site. Don't really want the gasmasks, rather get as close to the Vahallans as possible.

They don't have pics of everything, it's very annoying.

Email them and ask for pics, telling them why. Maybe if enough people do that they will get around to posting pics.

I will order a box of the Greatcoats once I can get them from within the UK and don't have to add $10.95 postage to the basic $19.95 cost.

Geeze, they've had them for years you'd think someone could have snapped a pic or two by now.

There are also steel helmets, side caps and zombie heads but yeah, no pics. I agree with Kill Krazy drop them a line.

EDIT

Someone has to make an IG army using these.

I really like these but as far as hitting the '50%' for a tournament is concerned, I can't see it happening very easily with these guys. Worth considering for just painting up and using with friends though.

Shipping today!

Well, if all goes according to plan, Tony et al will be very busy over the next few days (weeks) packaging and shipping Shock Troopers. I pity them, but nonetheless I am excited for them; a busy company is a company that makes money, and a company that makes money puts food on its employees' tables (and minis in my grubby little hands)
smile

I'm gonna assume we'll still have a little while to wait, but soon we shall be inundated in Shock Troopers! I'm personally waiting for five + 1 sprue (two from the warstoe, 3 direct order). I can't wait! (well, I can, but that's because I'm occupying myself with the cyber zombies and a small army of Numidians and Jewish revolters I ordered as a thanks to WF for the rush order).

So, here's to Shock Troopers, and to a whole bunch of new stuff. Once I clear away the backlog, it's Vikings and Saxons for me!

They also have 3 more sets in tooling, smart money says War of Spanish Succession (Napolionics)

That's great news. I have 2 boxes coming to me. They will be used for my IG Stormtroopers. Too bad these awesome minis weren't out when I revamped my IG. On that thought, they don't have heavy weapons for these guys yet, so I just may do it again!
