Hey everyone, I have been playing Eldar for a few months now and I am finally only 2 grav tanks away from being finished. I have been playing Eldar from the craftworld Altansar but I really don't like the crappy mountain of metal known as the Avatar of Khaine. So I decided I would convert my own avatar. Now I'm not too sure how I would go about painting an Eldar Harlequin laughing god. Any ideas? I wasn't sure if I paint him with the same diamond pattern like harlies or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, anything else you guys think I could possibly add to him to make him look more menacing would also be nice. This is my first time really working with pinning also so I was just glad to get the deceivers hand to look right. But I am open to suggestions.

Not bad so far. I would get rid of the long head, too Deceiver. And, since this is the Harlequin god, how about the iconic masks for actors? Make one half the frown and one half the grin.

I was telling my brother I should get rid of that head but he was nay-saying. Finally someone who understands aesthetics. Also I like the idea of the masks. I really need to work on my GS abilities though.

Maybe I could keep the old Deceiver head and cut the back part of his head off? Then round it down and add the GS to it.

Thanks, any idea on the paint pattern?

I did this conversion about 7 years ago for a craftworld that worshipped the laughing god, but never finished it (obviously).

I am hopeless at the diamond effect GW harlequins have so I went with a more fluid effect where the colours are constantly cycling through over the body. The face is painted as a mask.

Coincidently it has sat in the shelf under my painting desk for all that time until this morning.

After seeing yours I want to strip it back and start again with a better mohawk and a spear.

He'd also make a good harlequin for Inquisitor....

Hey good idea on that conversion!

Maybe I could keep the old Deceiver head and cut the back part of his head off? Then round it down and add the GS to it.

Sure, and add a mask over it maybe?

As for colour, I would try to stick to the Red/Black scheme of Altansar. Maybe with some Gold or Silver thrown in there?
