Well, I have "finished" my first model, and I'm not too displeased. I don't like the weapons, but will fix them when I've practiced, and learned more painting styles. I've never painted miniatures, so I am pretty happy with the results of my first one. Hopefully he will have a mob to join soon. Pics are with my phone. Sorry about that.

Looking at this, what would you suggest I work on to have my army show well on the table?

Thanks for looking.

Weird I painted my orks from Assault on black reach like that have a look. Otherwise it looks pretty cool.
Also try using some washes. I think a badab black would go good on the boots and skin. What do you have for the rest of your army?

looks great I would suggest that you buy some washes they really make all the details stand out.

I bought 2xAoBR sets + a box of boys from someone used. They are all put together, but none painted. I figured I'd paint a few 1 at a time, until I decided what I really liked. I have nothing else painted right now. I really don't have a ton of time to spare, and getting the flash/mold lines off of these guys takes a while. =)

Try adding some detail around the lips like in the picture below. I think it helps add a nice pop to the face.

I hadn't seen any orange orks, so I picked orange for mine. Maybe I should have looked around a little more. Do y'all make or buy washes? I tried to just water down some brown to "dirty up" my model, but after hearing so many use the washes comments, I think I should rework my method, or just go buy some.

Thanks all.
