Hi there, just wanted to show you my Leman Russ and Chimera. To different paintjob to try some techniques.

Both were sprayed with Skullwite paint.

I then washed the LR with Devlan mud, Badab black and Gryphonne Sepia.

For the Chimera I used weathering powders.

So please tell me what you think!

i prefer the washes over the powders. I dont like the look of the powders on the white. I would expect if there was that much weather to have the metal exposed and rusted rather than white.

I think the leman russ' paintjob looks better ,the chimera is to white somehow

Agreed - maybe the Chimera would look better with weathering over a wash? The Russ does look top-notch though!

I think the chimera is a little detracted because the doors are colored almost the same exact color as your weathering.
IMHO the chimera would be the best of both worlds if you gave it a quick wash to unwhiten the white a little bit before the powders.

Yeah, this one definitely needs some wash. I thought maybe you weathered the entirety of those doors, but I guess that is the color you painted them... I think the wash 'weathering' looks way better on the LR.

Hi there! Thanks for your feedback.

Well the chimera was more or like an experimental unit for my new weathering powders. I just ordered a manticore, so when this arrives I'll try to combine the two techniques.

Meanwhile I'll give the chimera a firm wash tomorrow!

Seconded.
I think what you're doing is great, but white can be really tricky, and i think it would really benefit from the combination of both.

Nice desert camo but I wouldn't paint the commanders uniform green.

FOR RUSS AND THE EMPEROR!
