Pretty sure Dakka has rules about encouraging illegal IP violations. Might want to watch it there, chief.

FYI, he's very personal about his codex and anyone looking at his list.

If he's not showing you his list, show him page 92 of the BGB. The game is about full disclosure unless you both agree otherwise.

Neither, it's Codices.

Should we be recommending this 'questionable' sources for codex information? Seems like it's a bad idea to encourage people to violate GW IP, especially considering how sue-happy they can be.

^ In response to the IP question above.

Im not sure, if it is just the basic rules without the pictures or any other fluff (and possibly no point values as well as he has to show you your army list anyways) I think is legal and quite a good idea. My reasoning for this is I beleive the Japanese GW has all of the codexs available online for free, thought they are in Japanese.

Also, as long as they can't build an army and don't get any of the extras that come with the codex I don't see why they shouldn't.

GW are entitled to licence a Japanese version of a codex for free distribution and still withhold English versions for sale only.

Therefore I am going to delete the references to torrent style sites for codexes.

It's reasonable to be able to mention enough of rules and points to make a sensible discussion. Going beyond that gets into the territory of copyright infringement.

Dakka policy is to not allow wholesale copying of copyright info and not to support sites which allow it.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.
