Without being a gun nerd, the thompson more commonly used stick magazines; drums are really only good for the amount of ammo they hold.
It's just that gangster movies have glamorised the drum mag, and the "Chicago Typewriter" tommy.

BTW I love this conversion!

Although the British much preferred the Drum Mag and even adapted their own version of the Tommy for their use.

Love the conversions, that's one of the things I love about Guard, unlike Marines who are so much more rigid. At the end of the day a boltgun is a boltgun and the tech priests would probably have a fit, Marines doing prayers and all that rubbish over its spirit!

That folded lasgun looks sweet, and I think I see how you did it! You used a knife hilt for the foregrip, right? the stock was then cut and folded over, right? Top rate! You gave me some great ideas, thanks.

I really liked your idea for the Imperial Guard shotguns. I made some good looking Hardened Veterans using your idea, a great use of spare Bolt Guns. The Tompson idea also good it comes out looking really great, thanks. Keep it up I would like to see some more of your ideas, I am not the most imaginative person in the world so I usually base off of or use other peoples ideas. Thanks the keep it up.

This is my little guide to make Graven Pattern Las Carbines. They have a cool little SMG look to them and I personally use them as "Count As" Shotguns for my vets.

First I take just your regular Lasgun arm off the spur. I use the ones with the Bayonet because the knife hilt will be used later on.

Now go ahead and cut off the end of the barrel along with the knife.

Now cut off the top thingy and the hand and emblems off the weapon.

A little off the end, cut off the end, then cut off part of the Lasgun to shorten the weapon.

You can then glue the end to the newly cut rifle.

Now cut off the hilt of the knife and glue it to the bottom of the weapon.

When it dries, clean it up and add to your model.

If anything good were to come out of Halo I guess it should be the weapon designs.

Nice tutorial, will yoink it shortly.

I experimented with this last night, and it the tutorial works quite well! The easiest way to experiment with it is using the lasgun model where the lasgun sets on the guy's hand so that you don't have to shave the hand off to get the effect.

I also discovered that if you flip the lasgun end upside-down, so that the small knob is on top of the barrel, it looks more like a lasgun than a shotgun. All credit to Sanchez for the inspiration, though!

That's an awesome tutorial!

I had a friend of mine that did a similar conversion with his entire IG army, but he also cut out the mags and replaced them with the curved bolter magazines. It looked a lot more like a carbine that way.

I have lived long enough, for I die unconquered.
