Very nice tutorial. I have messed with NMM a bit, and while I feel I can pull off iron and steel pretty well, bronze and gold have always felt like I was painting with my cat's eyes. I really appreciate the color information; I realize now I was getting a little too green/grey in mine.

I really like the effect on the greaves as well, and second that NMM looks really good on showcase models. Rank and file it is probably over doing it unless you do a quick couple of highlights with a wash to tie to together.

So, I have definately put your tutorial to good use as I am in the middle of my own NMM sanguinary guard. I couldnt help but notice your tut is called 'Basic NMM.' Is that because you are planning to create an advanced NMM tut? Just wondering because your work is extraordinary and I would really like to see how you finish your NMM models.

Great NMM technique! It is actually very different from the way I do it (snakebite leather up to a bleached bone that produces a very yellow-gold)

A silver NMM tutorial would be great if you have the time to do it as I always have a lot of trouble with it.

And for those asking why NMM is so good. It is simple really, you can get incredible amounts of detail using this technique whereas using metallic paint tends to produce a very flat uninteresting surface unless great care is taken.
I myself find NMM very addictive, once you start to use the technique, using regular metallics seems to be boring and amateurish even though it can actually produce great results (see Roleplayers sang guard if you don't believe me!)

NMM is nice and you did a very nice job but IMO, the best way is still using metals and working extensively with glazes. But that takes about as much time/skill as NMM anyways and is even harder to get right in my opinion. And good NMM is also very nice to behold but IMO, it has to fit the theme.
