Sounds about right. You will always have to weigh what could potentially hurt the rest of your army. I haven't built a 1k list in a while so I am not sure what my other armies (dwarfs, DE, and WE) would have to counter yours. My priority targets would be knights because they would make it to my lines first and then that big unit that has half your points in it. So you may choose to hit a grudge thrower instead of a unit of quarrelers because the grudge thrower could conceivably cause more damage to your army.

I see so my main threat... would be what stops your threats?

So, if I'm to successfully get it into combat and begin to kill of your ranks. It would become rather tough for you to win correct?

Not to mention the horde coming your way...

To an extent. You don't want to just run your knights into a huge unit to try and dwindle it down for the rest of your army. If you charge into a big unit of my dwarfs, I will be steadfast, plus rank bonus, and a standard which means I will probably win combat.

I would pick a target I could win against and if there are several take the one that would cause your army the most harm.

What don't want my Knights to charge?

Good targets are warmachines, scouts and lightly armed/low initiative core infantry in smaller blocks and archers/gun infantry. Basically things they can pick on with a good chance of surviving any retaliatory strikes on them. As said above letting them rack up victory points and protecting them from shooting at the same time. Then once a few turns in they can hopefully get some flank charges in on units fighting your infantry once they're done with the initial target.

I got it... gobble up all that I can, but don't bite off more than I can chew.

Today I received more to my army.

New addition was 1 Khorne Lord on Juggernaut.

I was also curious since this will be in my possession.

1 Galrauch, First of the Chaos Dragons
1 Archaon, the Everchosen
1 Khorne Lord on Juggernaut
1 Champion of Khorne
1 Chaos Sorcerer
15 Chaos Knights
15 Chaos Warhounds
36 Chaos Warriors
36 Chaos Marauders

Could I make a lot of "good" lists from this collection?

You should be able to make plenty of good lists from that collection.

Mine is pretty similar, minus all the cool hero models you have. I have a demon prince model and 3 battalions on the way. Those will give me 15 knights, 36 warriors, 60 marauders, and 30 hounds. I plan on mixing it up a little to get some chosen from the warriors and using warhounds to pull warshrines. The other models I would like to pick up are some marauder horsemen. I would like to try a cavalry heavy list with those and knights. I guess I need to pick up a few character models too.

You could have two nasty knight units and two solid warrior units that would make any list good. You can add anything to it and it will be competitive.

Thinking of a War Shrine or Hellcannon
