The assembly actually wasnt too bad, except in the ball and socket joints there are some sticks that pertrude so that the joints can be positioned in a certain way, I cut them out to position him myself and it was a pain, I could've used 3 hands but all in all not too bad. I'm still on the basecoating and I dont really have any advice. Unless you have spray gun and such, it's pain :(
PS Cheers for the sub again

Yo yo! Been a while, sorry about that fellas. Recently in life I haven't found time to squeeze the hobby in, but i'm sortin' out mah priorities and got these guys built up today! I chucked some special parts on the commander and put him on a bigger base for more posability. The pose is inspired by this awesome image: http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o292/rogu3_l3ad3r/Tau2.jpg (the central figure)
So yeah guys, here's what I have so far, tell me what you think and i'll get em painted up as soon as!

Cheers fellas,

LDP

Hey man, I love your painting, its really really crisp and clean however I have a pet peve that has been annoying me in all your painting blogs.

I really feel you should spend the little extra time preparing your models before you paint, there are moldlines everywhere and sharp bits of plastic where things have been cut of the sprue, and I feel it really ruins all the time and effort you have put in to the awesome painting.

As I said, the painting is superb but is let down slightly by the preparation. Hope that helps and I look forwards to seeing more work

Fair enough man, I've made it me resolution with these new tau to sort out mold lines to the best of my ability so i'll clean up these suits before I prime them and see how it goes cuz the models do look more 'real' when cleaned up and stuff

I like the purple accents dude, a little different than your normal white when they're painted in the normal Tau scheme, this should be pretty impressive when you complete him!

The purple is a very nice colour break up on the model, good choice!

Not entirely sure aye, I was sort of thinking along the lines that the purple was unique to this commander and the default accent would be brown, but this purple seems to have caught on
Thanks for your kind words as always nerdfest

Yo!
Realised after much thought and a little practical testing with my IG list that it was in need of some long ranged punch, so the tau has resurfaced! I'll be painting both Tau and IG at the same time to expand both forces, but my current focus is on getting some fire warriors out.
I've painted the new Finecast battlesuit commander to initiate my restart in the force, tell me what you think!

Sweet, are you going to change the paint scheme of either force to match them up of leave them as is?

Also. Pie plates and AP4 will wreck my crons I think that's Leman Russ's right

Nah im basing the tau with agrellan earth and dead grass because id like to eventually field them independantly but idk how I feel about it at the moment it's not as effective as i'd hoped yet but I've only based 2 things so i'll stay true for the time being. Yes indeed. Leman Russ plasma squadron here we come
