Hey Dakka,

Not sure if this is he right place for this. But my car was broken into last night in my parking garage and my entire army was stolen. For those of you who dont know me it was about 3000 pts of orks and Space Wolves all painted to award wining standards. If anyone see some really nice orks up for sale in a local pawn shop or strew out on the side of the road just let me know. Its garbage day and I cringe to think it might be in the trash. There are well over a 1000 hours of work in there.

I live in North Hollywood in California.

The perp didnt know what was in the cast cause he didnt steal my box of scenery that was sitting right next to it even though it had a tank or two in the box. I know its a long shot but I figured Id let you guys know. Life stinks sometimes,

Thanks dakka,

Fox

Gav Thorpe posted it on Facebook too. I know that doesn't do anything to help you right now, but hopefully it'll get some more eyes on it.

I can kind of empathize with your plight. In high school I had a binder of magic cards stolen, that represented most of the rares I owned at that time, outside of a few set collections. What felt even worse was the thought that the thief might think it was just a bunch of garbage and toss the cards in the garbage. I didn't have anything that would've been super valuable, but as a kid of limited means, it represented a significant investment in the hobby.

Obviously a pile of cards pales in comparison to the collection you have clearly spent untold hours buying, building, painting and showing immense attention to detail, and I sincerely hope you get them back, or at least the insurance money is enough to put you on that road again, even if it'll still mean immense amounts of work to get back to its former glory.

Hey man sorry to hear about the bad luck and all, when I was into orks I actually had someone steal my stompa that was in seperate parts in an old box once, left it right on a curb when I was helping my dad change a flat and forgot about it...

I just wanted to let everyone know that my insurance just came though and they are paying for a new army plus the time it would take me to paint it.

Further more I just wanted to thank everyone for the massive community outreach. The amount of offers for free orks figures to help rebuild was truly stunning and I am so grateful to be surrounded by my fellow war gamers. It means so much to me and I shall rebuild. I have a massive order in to Kromlech and and entire new army on its way.

The Waghh will rise again!!

BTW Ill be starting a blog/thread detailing the rebuilding effort. Again thank you to everyone for your time and support during this event.

Hey, that's great news! Awesome insurance company! Who are they? They deserve a plug!

Can't wait to see the new Orks! Hate that your doodz were stolen, but happy to see that the good guys vastly outnumbered the bad here.

I have heard too many of these horror stories.

It is one of the reasons I installed a security system and cameras at my house.

The models are getting so expensive, they really need to be treated as an asset that should be protected.

Good to hear about your renter's insurance. I have an added policy on my insurance to protect my collectibles. All you usually need is proof they existed and a police report. The photographs should help a ton since most of us have photos of our stuff.

This may be a good time for everyone to make a quick call to their insurance company and ask 'if 5000$ of plastic wargaming miniatures were stolen, am I covered? What do I need to do to protect them?'

Glad your insurance came through, it's little consolation but is something.

It really would be great if your army showed up again it really does look fantastic.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

I saw this army whilst we were playing the Feast of Blades qualifier some weeks back in San Diego, it was a sight to behold in person. I'm extremely sad to see what's become of it. You have my sympathies.
