Finished my Deamon Prince and Blood Letter Horde! was going for a burning warp energy type effect but i'll let you guys be the judge lol

Wish I had some more intelligent commentary but that's all I got at the moment.

Holy gak. THat is indeed amazing. I wouldn't say fiery exactly, but I can see an inate sense of fire within the paintjob. I commend you greatly on it. How exactly did you do this if you don't mind me asking?

nice and easy to do! primed black then drybrushed grey.

for the lighter areas, drybrushed ... crimson gore, blood red, blazing orange, golden yellow, sunburts yellow and finally just a touch of skull white lol.

the armour was drybrushed upto blood red then just hit with lots of washes of baal red and devlan mud. finally i added the details in shining gold and gave it a final wash of ogryn flesh to make it more brassy.

Not an expert job by any means but i'm pleased with the finish and cant wait to field him! currently painting my way through my entire Chaos Space marine 5317pt force! everything is primed black and drybrushed grey but i've only so far painted 20 deamons and a deamon prince lol!

Well the effect looks excellent either way. That is a lot of drybrushing. Good luck on the rest of your force though. I've still got about 5k of eldar sitting waiting to be painted, or assembled. :/

Looks amazing, but I didn't realise the armour was red because of the flash or whatever made the picture so bright

its a barely there red, i was going for a cooling iron type colour, as if he himself is boiling hot and the armour is cooking on him!

Those look spectacular. They virtually radiate an evil aura. It's nice for a change from the usual red-painted khorne daemons (which I myself am guilty of).

Yes they are Balrog Wings! used milliput to build up a mount for them, let it set then glued them on and filled in the gaps

The idea behind the colouring was actually inspired by John Blanche's Blood Letters on the GW site!
