A quick build by my standards for the kids at the Library group.
Would liked to have added some more detail especially some wires and plumbing, but the kids'll rather have terrain on the game table than the workbench!

Managed to get it primed tonight so can start painting and hopefully have it ready in time for NecroMonday!

Added a SW for scale comparison.
Decided to leave out the earlier stages. Parts from various plastic containers, sprue, styrene strips and odds and ends from the model kit spares box.
Would appreciate comments please as there will be a lot more pieces to build as and when I can fit them in the myriad of other projects ongoing.

Edit: Mods. May have dropped the thread in the wrong sub-forum. If so apologies and please move.
Thanks.
There will be the usual walkways of some sort eventually.
There is a need for smaller sections for carrying and storage.

Thanks for looking

Looking good, I lke the detail you've added. Next time, consider inverting the large cup used for the biggest container though, they usually look better when growing smaller at the the top instead of the bottom

Wait, that's your idea of a quick build with low detail? You need to make and sell stuff like that online.

Thank you for the words of encouragement.

The terrain that I will be building along with this is for the Gaming Club for the kids at an afterschool study group at the local library where I volunteer.

I have a million other projects that need doing so don't want to spend too long on this, so the finish is a bit more rough and ready than I would normall allow. It also meant not adding some of the plumbing and wiring I intended to do.

The slurpy cup was wot got the ball rolling
The inverting of said cup I never thought about, as it was the domed top I wanted, but now you mention it I could have found summat to put on top and had domes both ends which would be cool!

looks rad, cant wait to see it painted. only negative thing to say (and this isnt really negative) is that after i noticed you used a slurpee cup i cant see anything BUT the slurpee cup when i see it.

Was going to use the straw as a pipe going into the top.
Glad I didn't now!

Couple of pics to show some hurried painting so the plant could be included with a special game today.
The kids loved it

couple of my Hero Quest Zombies who stood in for ... erm ...Zombies would you believe!

Fwiw I played a Scavvy gang and the kids had a bounty hunter each. So they had to work as a team.
Objective loot markers to trade in for sweetmeats. I do believe you American chaps call it candy, what what!

It was all going well for the scurvy scavvies till the boss got shot and fell off the walkway into an acid container!
That was the end of him and the bottle test failed! Come back and fight you cowards!

Will hopefully get a bit more done on it and call it a wrap.
then onto the next piece of terrain.

Thanks for looking

Agreed.
I was thinking about that bit in particular, and the "glass" pipe in general the other night when I had to down tools.

Will try and remove the tag and add some accumulated dust and grime to the pipe itself.

Some nice detail work, and the painting brought it to life.

I think it just needs some lettering or numbers stenciled on.

Nice to hear about some Necro being played as well...

Really shoulda done that before starting the weathering

I may give it a miss on this piece but will definitely raid the decal spares for the next part. Though possibly will pop on a few warning triangles and such like here and there

For anyone interested in the construction a few pre primer pics.

Used No Nails glue a lot.
Spare sprue

An old 'pooter mouse innards
A crappy 1/72 Apache helicopter parts
Various parts from the model scrapyard
More sprue and sundry odds and sods

The panel joins were done with Tamiya masking tape with bolts from styrene hexagonal rod.

ps
Since my woes with burst radiators and a faulty water tank, a ballcock is now begging to be transformed with the help of a busted 1/72 Mig 21, courtesy of a clumsy electrician.
Just need to get my other projects sorted first.

That's some really nice work. One of the guys I regularly play and blog with has produced some lovely RT buildings using a veriety of old tins and plastic pudding containers. It looks better than it sounds, just like your stuff!

Just as a post op debrief I would consider thinking about putting a framework with a walkway around the cop of the cup with support beams that start flush with the top of the cup and retain their radius to the floor. That said, I reall like the terrain and the paint job as it is.

Thanks for sharing, and I look forward with antisipation to your next work.

TBH the idea did occur but was in a hurry to finish.
My next chemplant piece with ballcock and Mig 21 will have a top platform walkway with steps curving around if I can be motivated!
The current Necromunda terrain is in need of attention first as well as a billion other hobby projects!

Ballcock and Mig? Not a bad name for a pub.
Just popping down the Ballcock for a swift pint...
yup that would work!

My bad
Am 1.9 meters. Have lost an inch to old age as I used to be 6'4" in my youth. That would have made me 2.15 meters.
